Defeat the zombies while managing multiple resources in this hybrid RTS game. Try a random map after the campaign.

The game consists of building towers, managing the resources needed by those towers (and the location of those resources), collecting more resources from cleared out buildings, and using resources to expand and destroy zombies.

This game was amazing
I Loved how you had to build fast and you were almost forced to forge for resources with a time limit. It was really fun! Don't get me wrong, but one thing that would have been cool is adding maybe one other type of zombie that was stronger than the rest. Kind of a mini-boss zombie, that would be sweet.
But overall, man, I loved playing this. I was sad when the last level was over, but then I found the magical map editor, Which i have spent hours in. Good Luck in the future masterpieces I hope to see from you. Fantastic game!

Nice game!

I love these real time strategy games. This one was smooth and simple.Still, I have to agree with almost everything daggertooth said. Most notably, on the final campaign, I had extreme amounts of idle survivors on the north end of the map and a severe lack of help on the south end. Even though the north units weren't doing anything, they would not come to help the south. I can't wait for a sequel!

Fun, but annoying Bugs

This isn't a bad game. The concept is solid and game play rather smooth. The main detractor is that once you've developed a basic strategy the computer has little chance no matter what difficulty level, so systematically wiping the zombies out is almost busy work. I also agree with others on this board that a wider variety of weapons and maybe even zombies would enhance this game.

There were a wide assortment of bugs in this game that significantly reduced the entertainment value.

1) Idle units. There were times where idle units would not respond to commands. At one point I had 40 units in one depot that just sat there. I couldn't reinforce my snipers or harvest more resources with them. I tried deleting the depot and harvesting those resources. The Units would harvest them, then sit idle in the new Depot. Now it may have been a function of my area of greater activity being maybe 8 depots away, (once my activity looped around and the chain of depots became two, the lazy units finally became active) however that should not have mattered.

2) Allocation of resources. The depot that had the 40 idle units also had 700 ammo and over a 1000 wood, a result of trying to get them active by deleting depots and harvesting them. While these resources were stuck idle and useless I was under constant siege. Several of my sniper units were low or out of ammo and yet the reinforcement never came no matter what I tried.

3) Resupply. Similar to number 2, I had an issue where a sniper adjacent to a wall ran out of bullets. The wall was being attacked and a unit repeatedly reinforced it with new wood. The depot it came from had no bullets either, but one depot away from that was a supply of bullets. The sniper sat useless despite bullets being close.

4) Snipers that wont shoot. On multiple occasions I would have a sniper unit built and show a full compliment of bullets. Yet when I tried to shoot in the air it would tell me that it was out of bullets. It also was unable to defend itself.

5) Units that can't run away. At one point I had cleared a path to the dynamite. I extended two depots to reach it with a workshop, not bothering to defend it. I sent 20 units to quickly destroy it. Once destroyed I quickly scrapped the workshop and two depots and told my main sniper wall to reinforce itself with men, expecting those 20 units to run back. Now I've made retreats before, so I know that strategy works, but this time the units just stood there. It took a minute for the zombies to get close and even then they didn't run, just stood and got slaughtered. I suspect that was a bug.

This game was fun and I did play it quite a bit, but the bugs did reduce my enjoyment level of the game.

Thanks for making this.

the concept of the game is great, and it is addictive to play. the ideas in this game are a 10...

although i found this game to be incredibly easy too.

guaranteeing 100% accuracy with 11 people in the sniper tower is why this game never really had me at any point, having to think, or have any real strategy other than getting ammo. it actually was kinda disappointing to conquer the game, then realize it never was hard at any point.

it was cool though, and a pleasure to waste a bit of time on. thanks

Very strategic and cool.

Most strategy zombie games I've played on Newgrounds weren't that good, except for The Last Stand series, and Autumn War, which I think Autumn War was severely underrated. But this one here takes the cake, and to me a zombie game here hasn't taken the cake in awhile.

The survival runs made me nervous, and you felt a sense of desperation; trying to blow up the bridge, scavenging for supplies, and building new buildings, while all hoping at the same time you strategically put a reasonable quota of survivors on each task hoping it would get the job done without badly effecting anything else's progress, and hoping the survivors doing the hard work don't get munched on, and that you also correctly supply and beef up snipers to defend all the work from getting trashed by zombies, so fun! Like I said, a real sense of desperation and frustration, and a real sense of stress.

I also liked the variety of buildings to scavenge, and their associated threat levels, and supply levels, and it was well thought out to make hardware stores that of course had more wood than other places, and police stations with the most ammo. It was neat how you could scavenge debris as well, like wrecked cars, not much there but it was great for little pick me ups when you couldn't reach a building to scavenge right away, nicely done.

What else made this so fun, and basically endless, is the option to browse maps, choose a randomized map, and download maps from other places. So once you pretty much make it past the campaign its an endless amount of brains and guts from there on out. Can players create their own maps, and if so where? Good show for so much variety.

One small down part though, survivors must eat food and drink water, maybe if you make a part 2, you could make food and water salvage hotspots, like grocery stores and gas stations, and maybe a little food and water here and there in some houses? If so that would be great, in part 2 have the whole crowd as a whole have a food and water bar, unless you want each individual to have a food and water bar. I think managing food and water for every individual would be nightmarish to manage for some people, but maybe some people can do it, but if you think that is too hard, just give a food and water bar to the crowd as a whole as I said above. Please consider this if your planning on making part 2, but definetely keep the wood and bullets salvage.

I think there should also be some mobile combat units, but to be fair they don't do nearly as much damage as a sniper, but they get a fair amount of ammo, and you can give them lucky shots at times to take out the zombies in a single pistol shot, just a thought.

Also its missing a classic zombie touch, have some zombies die sometimes with their heads blowing off, and brain matter spewing all over the pavement, that would be a great touch.

Nonetheless, this is still a great RTS game, original or not its been tweaked to greatness, and I enjoyed playing it, most people couldn't pull this off as I've seen, but you did a great job in making this, it makes you feel all the needs of desperate survival and stress, getting through it all by having a keen strategy ability, and no beat around the bush crap. Its very fun constructing things and scavenging, it just needs a few more things as I've explained then I think this game would really fly.

Good job, please make more.
