Update 6: Fixed the controlswap chargeshot glitch. Pending approval, yada yada yada.
Update 5: new swf has been approved, but you can still visit my site of you want to.
Update 4: Added Charge Shot for Megaman, and Power Kick for Tankman. While it's pending approval on NG, you can play the newset version on my site at mcsmstudios dot com.
Update 3: Fixed the pausing when entering the boss room glitch. The fix is pending administrator approval. Should show up soon enough. Still working on Charge Shot for Megaman and Power Slide for Captain.
Update 2: Front Page! Wooh, better late than never! Thanks to whoever did it. I like to think it's Tom.
Update: Added easy mode, and a button to swap the shoot and jump controls.

Tip: If the boulder section lags or you lose control, try closing any unused tabs or programs that might tax your processor, etc.

A cool little one stage game starring the Captain from Tankmen. Worked my ass off on this for the past 2-3 weeks. I hope it was worth the effort. I did most of the art myself, excluding Megaman, some powerups, and Rush, aswell as a hidden cameo from everyone's favourite plumber. Was going submit this on Pico Day, but I don't want to wait 7 months. I even got to put "Still Blastin'" in an actual Megaman related submission.

Let me know if I missed any bugs. And please provide details.

its fun

This is outstanding for what it is. there isnt much to critique about a well executed rehash of an awesome formula that isn't trying to be anything more than that, so for whats it worth I think the tank man mega man parallel was clever and you did a damn good job of executing it.

You said if enough people asked for a charge shot, you'd add it. Well, I'm another one asking for it. Sorry, but for me it's like a staple of the Megaman series. Anyway, I had no problem with the game (that doesn't mean I didn't think it was hard), so I'll just leave you with a 5/5 and a 10/10 for capturing the feel of Megaman, hard labor creating sprites,coding, and so on.

Great game.

Here we can see you can do more than just a Mario game. The game feels very close to a Mega Man game. I would know considering I've played Mega Man 10 recently. I don't know if there's any real difference between playing as Mega Man or Tank Man, but the difference is more-so clear when using Mario (higher jump). I hope you continue to do some great work.

I'll probably make a video for this game on my YouTube account.

Mega Clone

I really liked this clone, but it felt a little bit too easy for me. You were a bit generous on the power ups & recovery items. i noticed that some of the spikes seemed to be covered up so you won't be able to hit them unless you're not that cautious of them. (Maybe make a difficulty setting like Mega Man 10?)

Playing with Tank Man and Mega Man was fun, but do you think you can add the Charge Shot? (Even if you don't like it)

I liked the idea you came up with Portal Man and I can't wait to see the next Robot Masters.

The enemies and obstacles were fine as well but I noticed that the stage was...well not exactly Portal Man's "theme" if you know what I'm talking about.

Last is the music. Still Blastin' is probably the best Mega Man related music I've ever listened to, but it didn't seem to go well on Portal Man's stage for me. If you design a stage with some kind of theme or something else, that would be great.

I can't wait to see more from you :)

I'm a little confused about your first paragraph. There is a difficulty setting, and it sounds like you were playing on easy mode.

If a few more people ask me to put in charge shot, I might. But for now I'll stand my ground. Maybe megaman will get the charge shot and tankman will get something different.

I don't know that I'll be making any more robot masters. From the weapons you can guess what they might be.

I just sort of made the stage I felt like making. I also wanted it to feel like a more general megaman stage, Portal Man would require a more gimmicky stage. If I made a full 8 master game, I'd probably design eight stages of varied themes and then decide which robot masters fit the stages, maybe slightly changing the graphics.

The audio portal really lacks original megaman style music. I wanted the stage them to be an original piece and not just a remix. Still Blastin' is partially what inspired me to make the game so I thought I'd return the favour and use it in the game. If I made a full game I'd probably use music made by Kevvviiinnn on Youtube. His stuff is great.
