Very Hard 2 Get Both Endings But I Did It And I Like This Game

My expectations were not decieved

I'm very fond of puzzle games and pixel graphics, so right off the bat I had high hopes for Depict1. As I started the game, I quickly became aware of what was in store for me. This raised my hopes even higher because I also have a huge weakness and sense of appreciation for stories that are successfully and cleverly able to work the "through a glass darkly" angle.

Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Depict1 rose to the occasion and exceeded it. I loved it so much that I've been playing through it several more times on and off throughout the day. Looking at it in hindsight, the fact that some of the lies weren't actually as dishonest as they first appeared is a wonderful touch.

The gameplay itself is pretty simple, but perhaps it's better to call it 'minimalistic'? It benefits from not being cluttered or overdone. The music is quite nice, as well. Really, the only thing I can possibly think to complain about is the little row of black in the right corner of the final screen with the hole. I didn't notice it at first, but as soon as I did I couldn't stop trying to jump or shoot into it, hahaha. Perhaps it's intentional?

All and all it's an excellent little game. It's actually inspired me to draw, which is something few flash games have kudos for that. I'm definitely curious to play your other games now.

Ah! Thanks for letting me know! I was worried the orangle block was missing in the part before boss, but fortunately people were thinking about totally different thing. (: That's just a little graphical glitch and not that important, but yeah I can see how that can distract people in a puzzling situation. Again, thanks a lot for the detailed review!
