Arrow Keys: Move
<X> : Jump
<C>: Flip Level
This is the second game I've created with flash, which I have just reuploaded after a bug in the preloader decimated the playability and caused extreme lag. I hope it works much better for everyone!
Its RAGING time!!
Hardness Level: I give a 9 to the still extreme lagging.
I can't be sure I have the same problem as everyone else, but my main issue with the game is that controls seem to freeze every not and again. Thus, if it freezes while I'm, say, waiting for a turret to shoot, it'll go "nope, you can't punch or jump right now" or if it decides to freeze while I'm holding a button, it can force me to walk an entire block rather than just adjust my positionning or make me punch a second time in a row, making me fall onto the beam. Another instance is when I press C to drop near an enemy and suddenly the game won't let me turn around to punch it before it hits me. Switching the lights off and closing all other flash-based applications on my computer didn't solve this issue one bit.
I'm currently at Area 27 I think it is and if there actually was a checkpoint between the three-red-wall area and the lots-of-turrets area, I might be further now, but the freezing keeps getting me and with a score of -356 I've just hit my breaking point. Would've really loved to see the end of this and think the game has an incredible concept but it's just not running correctly for me.
I would like to be spies
better if it had levels.
A very nice pixel game.
I liked the idea that you can flip over the level. I've played lots of flash games, but I don't think I have ever seen that.
The camera movement was kind of annoying. It swings back and forth when you turn around, which is instantly irritating. I'd suggest keeping the veiw of the character slightly behind, so you can still get a glimpse of whats coming, but it doesn't hurt your eyes when you turn around.
I also encountered the same glitch that ZORAK420 wrote about. I don't think a reset button is nessecary, but maybe try to fix the glitch and reupload. If you can't do that, maybe have a restart button, where you can start from the last checkpoint you went through.
I don't see what everybody is complaining about on the controls: they were well placed, and I haven't had any problems with them. Maybe the users who do encounter problems are having lag issues.
Speaking of lag issues, the only time I ever had lag was once, near the second checkpoint, and it was intense lag. I don't know if it is my computer or the game.
Other than a glitch and some camera issues, it was a pretty decent game.
-1/10 for a glitch and camera issues.
