This took just as long as WHOOKOS Episode 2, but still well worth it.
After seeing the two primary series you're working on- I have to admit that suspense and horror is definitely something your better suited to, compared to comedy.
No offense meant.
That being said, the animation here is good, the monsters look rightfully fucked up, the sound work is great and creepy and some of the horror scenarios here are put to great use.
The one problem is still dialogue- or rather its delivery. The script itself is good but the voice work needs a little more emotion in it- like the emotion in your character's voice didn't match his animation and crying when he spoke of burying his family.
Still has potential, though.
This is the Scoot that I've been waiting to see!!!
Stunning. Brilliant. So much to find out in the coming parts/chapters. I can distinctly remember myself screaming in my head "Something's gonna pop up! Something's gonna pop up!".... then again, it also helps when I am watching this where the only light is my laptop. =P
Now on to the critiques, because I have always been a fan of yours and I am always looking for what can be improved. Unlike your previous works, I didn't have a problem at all with the voice acting! (HUZZAH!!!) So, awesome job on that end. Also, the story is just overall creepy. It's hard to keep myself from shivering even as I'm writing this. You have insane talent on the horror end, please consider basing your career off of this genre, because you've got a good nudge in the right direction already. Also, even when I am expecting something to happen, it still scares me to see it happen!
Now, I only had a couple of issues... well, not issues, but more of a heads up. I personally felt that the family part needed a little bit more of work. The tension that was there didn't match the rest of the episode. Yes, it is a different source of tension, but it just seemed a little more awkward than emotional to me. Also, there was one spot (i think the last time we see the car zooming before the family bit) where the car seemed to be going in a different direction than the pavement. I'll have to look back on it to make sure, but that was my first thought on that bit, so I may have not have seen it properly.
I know you've had a busy summer, and I definitely believe relaxing and finding time away from your "work" is time well spent, so continue to enjoy your summer and keep working hard! Now that I have finished writing my gigantic rant (one that you will probably never read/respond to =P), I am going to watch something more fuzzy and cuddly to calm m nerves for the night.
You deserve it.... but can you top this? Looking forward to that moment!!!
#^ ^# told ya i would wait
Awesome story. Truly creepy. It definitely gave me shivers. It was fun animation too. I'm looking forward to more.
