Not Bad, Kind of Fun.

I do have to agree with Metroidfan and his comment about not being able to aim up. Also, I'm not entirely sure what the point of the third suit's power was, besides letting you move faster, I guess. The upgrade-through-murder system was a nice plus, and overall, it was enjoyable.

Also, this is just my opinion, but this was a hell of a lot more like a Metroid/Event Horizon homage than Metroid/Dead Space.

Room for improvement...

My biggest complaint it there is no way to aim up or at an angle, but otherwise, it's a pretty solid platform shooter.

Freaky...

I have to say, that was quite the disturbing little adventure. The monsters were...disgusting, in a 'well designed, but surely a strange creative mind' way!
Gameplay was nice and straightforward, controls were spot on, and graphically the whole thing was excellently presented, as well as very, very gory and horrific.
Unfortunately, the story is a very common one and so I can't really award anything for originality there.
While the sound effects were perfectly suited, I must admit I found the music a little lacking - each level having only a short ambient loop that started to irritate after a little while.
I liked that there was an exp/level up system in the game, but disappointed that it was all automated - from glancing at the menu early on I had assumed each level up would award points that could then be spent on upgrading stats as the player wished, and I think a system like that might have felt a little more rewarding.
I had a few issues with the size of the player and enemy characters. The length of the player characters gun made it impossible to hit monsters that were too close, which happened surprisingly often with the butterfly enemies. conversely, the player being as big as it was made it difficult to dodge enemies in a narrow space, such as the many-limbed charging creature.
I also found that, when the player first encounters the running/jumping enemy (red tentacle arms), that they are stationed directly below a butterfly spawn point, and are near enough to it for it to activate. Time spent fighting said tentacle creature means a susbtantial number of butterfly enemies builds up, such that it isn't possible (at least in my attempt) to progress without dying and resetting the room (with the tentacle creature not respawning).
Lastly, the second armour upgrade quickly became a liability - the dash ability was never required at any point in the game (as far as I was aware), and was far too easily triggered, leading to a lot of frustrating situations. I think the solution would be to assign dashing to a seperate button so that it is not activated accidentally.
The bosses were a little easy and the game as a whole a little short, but personally I ddn't mind those factors.
All in all, it was an enjoyable experience to play it, and I think that a sequel built upon what you've done here would be an excellent idea.

Interesting tribute to Dead Space and Metroid

The dismemberment isn't there, but the story is, with more zombies and ranged mutant aliens. Cool or disgusting atmosphere. But the lack of any noticeably new fighting mechanics, the ability to shoot up, or my worst gripe: The platforming make this fall short of good for me. Not only does the level layout not make sense for a real ship - forgivable for game-play's sake, but the platforming is more of an annoyance than fun as jumping from small hanging block to another small hanging block is almost as repetitively dull as falling and starting the process over again as the controls either don't fit it well or the blocks don't catch you.

Wow nice game ^^

The game, character and monsters concept are awesome, the game playability is also awesome, the animations are so smooth and realistic, athough i must admit with I-Are-THE-Dude, it does look alot with Dead Space, but that does not make the game less enjoyable.
