Kind of reminds of dead space as a side scroller and the player is a Rosie big daddy with the rivet gun from bioshock 2

Nice opening scene, first thought about gameplay is it reminds me of Abes Odyssey, the controls are very responsive, the graphics are great even on low settings, There is a great levelling up system, which gives you certain perks, Platforming action with a good story, one of the few games deserved of a 10!

Just a few thoughts.

First of all, I liked the game, I really did. It was a jolly good fun and it kept me glued to the screen until I finished it. It's been a long time since game managed to do that and you deserve some credit for that.

That said, most of the appeal came from the atmosphere itself. That one was first class, no complaints there. Sure, a little cliched, what with aliens from another world and everything, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The difficulty however, well... much could be said about that one. For starters, it was never there. I died three times, all of them at the final boss and I blame my incompetence for that, not the difficulty of the game. That and the fact that one fall kills you. If that wasn't there, I dare say I'd beat the game without dying once. Try to fix that, make it harder. Maybe add a difficulty stages. You know, Easy, Normal, Hard? Make more suicidal enemies. Zombies (I believe you call them cultists?) become useless after you get more powerful weapon. Well, most enemies do, but zombies especially so. In fact, enviromental dangers are way more dangerous than moving enemies and that's kinda, well... sad. Perhaps giving enemies more ranged weapons would help?

Enemies also tend to be kind of on a stupid side. That runner mutant with many arms? It tends to get stuck in a corner where you can just shoot it to your heart content. The... supersoldier (?) is once again not agressieve enough. Both of them can be easily beaten just by spreadfire and your superior damage rate. When you get armor upgrades, it just becomes trivial. Perhaps take armor upgrades away and offer them to the players who finish a previous difficulty stage of the game. That is, you finish Easy mode, you get a jumping suit of armor. You finish a Normal mode, you get a speedy suit as well. That would, of course, also mean, you need to boost the difficulty of the enemies once again, to make that rewards worthwhile. Which would be a good thing, if you ask me.

I didn't see the ending coming. May have something to do with me being drunk at the time... anyway, it surprised me and I give you a little bonus for that. Poor Sergei. However, does that also mean we can look forwards to the sequel? I would like that.

All in all, it's a very nice game and it would be an instant classic... would it be just a little harder. That's why you get -3 points at the mark. If the aforementioned sequel actually IS coming, I hope some of my remarks will be acted on. It would make a good game GREAT.

Pretty fun

As several people have said, there should be aiming. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but when there are things that fly and things on the walls and ceilings, your only option is to jump and shoot over and over.

While the entire story was really well-presented, the ending was horribly executed.

I had a couple issues with knowing where to go. While an unclear objective certainly works in the game's favor and encourages exploration, there were times where I ended up running all the way back to the beginning of a level because I couldn't recognize where I'd been and where I hadn't.
