Its very addictive and deserved a front page showing.
I also agree with True-Sabre though and he forgot to mention Dead Space the game.
2 min into the game it popped into my mind.

Simply put, Amazing!!!

Wow, as someone who just finished their first flash game, I can say I truly appreciated everything you had to offer here. A story not full of originality but different enough to enjoy, great great atmosphere for a Flash game (the mist is just wow!), the artwork and animations employed were really top notch, from how the characters moved to how all the scenery worked to help set up a feeling of isolation and possible danger. The amount of enemies you had would put some console games to shame, and each employed a great deal of creativity. The bosses contained the same grotesque wonder as the rest of the enemies, which was a plus, however they were all on the "very easy" side of the difficulty spectrum, minus the last but only for the possibility of being knocked off, so that could be addressed in future games (or upgrades to this one possibly?). Loved how some of the upgrades were hidden, that adds a bit of fun from exploration that more linear games lack. Next game try switching the ratio of hidden items and obvious items to favor the hidden ones, it gives the player extra purpose in facing down the baddies and searching every nook and cranny. The level-up system was only really noticeable for the firing speed and damage, as all the enemies were fairly easy to dodge, but the system was a great addition nonetheless. The sounds were great, very moody, the controls were smooth and responsive, and the action never really dipped too low for too long. This is a great game to be very proud of, hopefully it will remain on the front page for quite a long time. I hope to see more from you, keep up the great work!

Metroid meets Dead Space

Basic Review: Everything is solid. I gave it a eight out of ten because there's not much more you can possibly expect from a flash game. There are a few bugs here and there but I'm sure in the long run they will be worked out. Great flash game that is definitely worth playing.

Detailed Review: This game is PHENOMENAL. Not necessarily the most original flash game I've ever played but the execution is absolutely amazing. I loved the level-up system even though it was simple. Mostly what kept me playing this game was the Metroid feel which is definitely well done. This is essentially Dead Space meets Metroid which has been said numerous times in the reviews I've read.
Why an EIGHT out of Ten? I had a game-breaking glitch happen to me where I jumped at a door and ended up phasing through a wall. Kind of sucks to have to restart from a save because of that especially when I was right in the middle of something. That's what kept me from rating this a perfect ten.
I liked what characters I did meet, the art style was great, and to an extent I even enjoyed the cinematic portions. Nice creepy vibe through the whole game much akin to Dead Space. What I didn't like was mostly the actual execution of the game. It's not fun getting glitched through a wall or shooting at a zombie that is clearly in front of you and having it hit the wall instead. It did suck a little bit not being able to arc my shots upward at all without jumping.
If this game is ever patched for the various bugs in the game, definitely a competitor for ten out of ten in my book.

Good stuff

The only problem I had was with the last boss fight,
the controls seemed a little buggy and it was kind of hard to stay on the platforms when everytime I tapped my direction I went flying off retarded into the abyss.

Great game though, reminds me of deadspace.

A beautiful game

First of all, to explain the 8 as opposed to a 10, I felt this game is a tier above most of what I've experienced on this site. I haven't written a review for a long time, and I'm pretty much a nobody in this community; but I know games, so hear me out.

The gameplay reminded me a lot of Metroid. The straight shooting, the only occasional power-ups, and of course the way the doors were designed. I'm a fan. The levels themselves where a bit challenging with the enemy placement and the occasional limited lighting. I would have liked more secrets. Really the only item the was a bit out of the linear path was the spread shot; and as far as that goes, woe betide the player who didn't find it. Yeesh. Anyway...

Great backstory. Sort of a mesh of Resident Evil and the movie Event Horizon. Even though I knew where it was going, I was kept interested enough to search every nook and cranny to ensure I didn't miss any of those databases. The way the subconscious bleeds into reality, very tight.

I also liked your basic level-up system for the way this game is meant to be played. Instead of just killing anything that's in your way to achieve your goal, there is an actual incentive to take a little extra time to seek out creatures a little outside your path, or on return trips.

Bosses... hmm. First I wonder something. I never died, but a couple stages put my health pretty damn near. There are no health items though, ever. So, were the bosses scaled down to prevent restarting the stage? Do you restart? I don't know, I never died. Frankly, none of the bosses got through my shield.

There was one point though where I died many times. Not through enemy damage mind you, but from the transition to when the final battle begins, to when you make your first jump to a platform. The near to far camera angle is terrible for that exact moment. If you're quick, that double-jump will save you, but it takes a little gettin used to. It was a very awkward shift.

All in all man, a great and very addictive game.

I just hope you appreciate the fact that I've never written a review this long before. Again, the 8 is because you're on a different tier because off all the elements involved. I truly hope you produce more in this vein.
