There are no other words to describe it. Berzerk Studio, I have to hand it to you, this is one of the best 2D platform adventure game I have ever played.

Like Old school,Metroid...only for Adults

Epic game franchises have to start somewhere..and this is it. I implore anyone who reads not sleep on this game!!! It kind of felt like playing, Metroid. I HATE...Metroid. However, I LOVE this game! I didn't really listen to the music considering my volume was on the tapping of my keyboard and buzz of my television in the background didn't do it much justice. The last upgrade (or might have be first to last) the running ability was useless in the final battle not to mention...would have been more useful earlier in the game. I would like to see more weapons..maybe a grenade or two. The movements of the swarm were predictable..but that didn't stop me from making their insides ooze out. more thing I'd like to touch on...when your about to engage the last boss...the camera zoom causes me to plunge to my death. I jump on that first platform "Oh crap, overclocked my jump..ahhhh!" *splat* Satisfy your blood lust and play The Breach!!!

Played it before...

It's a game I've played on XGen or something like that. It's actually an amazing game, despite the certain "borrowed" elements. I liked scavenging for upgrades (Burst Shot) and other whatnot. Not to mention the innovation portrayed amongst the enemies, many being slightly unique, something I ought to give you plenty of credit for.The plot is pretty nice, and so is the art, sound effects, plot development, and the gameplay.

Actually, lemme catch you up on the gameplay. The gameplay was definitely... Not that awesome. There were points in the game that either made it totally easy, or just mind-blowingly difficult, despite your level. Unless I could take down one of those Cultists in a point where he is simply stunned by my sheer firepower, I'm practically dead. The same goes for that mutant with the trillion moving arms. (Still, very unique creatures there, I'll give you that.) The same issue I show with airborne enemies. They're fast, and they're above. Sadly, there's no such thing as aiming above Sergio's head, making it a lot less suited for it.

Now, if I had the enough firepower to do all these actions, then the game is only easy, and not difficult in almost any way. In the term of easy, the common enemy only seemed to be wind-up toys that chased you everywhere and only took some concentrated firepower to kill. The bosses, were as well too easy, since it only took a matter of finding a safespot and holding the trigger button until the end of the game.

This game still has great potential. I definitely enjoyed the logs, the flashes of craziness (I noticed something slightly obscene there, but well.), and the terror that each whisper gave off. The mood did fit well into the game.

Aside from the gameplay elements, and that cop-out ending, this game was really some good piece of work. Good luck in whatever next piece you have.

Nice Platformer

I loved the graphics and atmosphere of this game - A fairly straightforward platformer/shooter that is definitely worth playing. The game itself seems perfect for me in terms of difficulty and challenge, takes about an hour to get through (which for me is perfect), and (while it is hardly novel) gives the player just enough plot to keep them into the game.

My only suggestions would be to:
1) Give the player the ability to shoot upwards
2) Let the players decide how to spend their upgrade points
3) More and greater variety of weapons and armor
4) Reconsider final boss

Like some of the other reviewers, I found the final boss to be more annoying than difficult. Anytime you lose a boss fight before realizing that you are in a boss fight = bad. If you only didn't have to jump onto a platform to trigger the boss battle, it wouldn't have been as frustrating. (My first trip to the end boss, I made the jump onto the adjacent platform that triggers the fight, then got distracted by the boss's graphics, causing me to mistime my jump and fall to my death.) It is not like the boss is very difficult, if you avoid plummeting to your death, all you have to do is keep firing until it drops (you don't even have to aim)....which makes the fact that I died like twenty times all the more embarrassing.

Also, there is also a minor quirk relating to final boss (not quite a bug), I was able to get the medal for completing the game as I fell to my death, meaning that I won the game without winning the game.
