Nice Platformer

I loved the graphics and atmosphere of this game - A fairly straightforward platformer/shooter that is definitely worth playing. The game itself seems perfect for me in terms of difficulty and challenge, takes about an hour to get through (which for me is perfect), and (while it is hardly novel) gives the player just enough plot to keep them into the game.

My only suggestions would be to:
1) Give the player the ability to shoot upwards
2) Let the players decide how to spend their upgrade points
3) More and greater variety of weapons and armor
4) Reconsider final boss

Like some of the other reviewers, I found the final boss to be more annoying than difficult. Anytime you lose a boss fight before realizing that you are in a boss fight = bad. If you only didn't have to jump onto a platform to trigger the boss battle, it wouldn't have been as frustrating. (My first trip to the end boss, I made the jump onto the adjacent platform that triggers the fight, then got distracted by the boss's graphics, causing me to mistime my jump and fall to my death.) It is not like the boss is very difficult, if you avoid plummeting to your death, all you have to do is keep firing until it drops (you don't even have to aim)....which makes the fact that I died like twenty times all the more embarrassing.

Also, there is also a minor quirk relating to final boss (not quite a bug), I was able to get the medal for completing the game as I fell to my death, meaning that I won the game without winning the game.

Thanks for the fun game!

Not bad

However the game is hyper-responsive. The bosses really arent all that hard. Found the butterfly dudes harder to deal with than the bosses.

Bosses: Stay in one spot and shoot. pretty basic.
Last boss was extremely easy. Just jump over his lazer beam, because he can hit you a few times with himself and it doesnt do anything.

Also by Hyper-responsive I mean that the double-tap, for the longest time as it to recognize it as a double-tap on the > > keys to speed forward, is about 250-350milsec. That's way to long of a wait period.

Other than that, the art and stuff was neat. Story was pretty flippin' bland.
Saw the end twist coming straight from his first halucination.

Pretty cool

A decent shooter with a pretty cool leveling system and awesome graphics. There's one glaring error that prevents me from giving it a solid 10, though (aside from some lag, which is forgivable): the powerups, namely the final suit. The dash was SUCH a problem; it wound up making me die a bunch of times when fighting the final boss (who I also died against because of the two second lag at the beginning of the fight, along with other things that shouldn't have made me fall during that battle but did) because I'd tap the 'right' key and he'd go running off the platform. It didn't do anything, except help me escape those awful "Yellow God" tentacle dashing things.

You did a great job with this, but if you're going to include dashing, make it do something, and make it easier to control.

I really did like the game, but I can't help feeling like this was just the flash version of Dead Space. Anyways, I enjoyed them both. I can't see anything to improve on.
