For Ludum Mini-Dare 20, with the theme "Greed."
Please use spellcheck next time
Interesting concept, though a bit underdeveloped. Also, since the concept relies so heavily on the short passages between each level the least you might have done was to make sure the grammar for some bits was right and 'existence' was spelled correctly.
I'm not usually a grammar Nazi but when the main theme of your game is spelled incorrectly there must be something wrong.
Hardly a game.
OK, yeah, it's got a vague story and pixel art, which somehow qualifies it as an "artistic" game that people will say I'm some idiot for not getting.
This isn't art. It's just a poor game with a few lines of text that kind of implies it's some kind of parasitic cell that was an absorbed twin (which is a real phenomenon, although they generally don't turn into weird abominations that fly out of your chest), but is vague enough to leave it open for "interpretation."
Yes, you can get something out of this. But you know what? You can get something out of any story, that doesn't make it good. Compared to real games, the gameplay in this is terrible, and compared to real good works of art in other forms, the message here is weak.
What's not to get?
How are so many people going "lol wtf is this I dont get it roflrofl." Isn't it pretty obvious when it says "left to die in the flesh of my brother?" Like, c'mon. There aren't too many conclusions you can draw from that, even without seeing the ending.
Anyhow, i'll go along with the "good concept, weak gameplay" crowd. A legit game based on the same idea would be rad.
oh yes indeedly
that has brought a tear to my eye, yes indeedly it has. i shant say that i've laughed that hard in well over a fortnight
i like the game, though it could do better...if it was longer then i'd probably give it a 9-10
