This game was made possible by a grant from the Digital Media & Learning Competition. The goal was to make a truly educational game that was also genuinely fun to play. We hope students, teachers, and gamers will all enjoy the game, and encourage you to visit www.cellcraftgame.com, which will soon have an open forum and eventually downloadable teacher materials.

The game was designed by Anthony Pecorella. The lead programmer was larsiusprime of Super Energy Apocalypse fame, and the art was by LILg, who created the Reincarnation series. A custom soundtrack was created by Hibiki Haruto.

Also thanks to Dr. Jed Macosko at Wake Forest University and Dr. David Dewitt at Liberty University for providing lots of support and biological guidance.

Thanks so much for the support and kind words - this has already exceeded my hopes in terms of a response for the game! :-D

This game can be processor intensive. There are some options in the menu for reducing the graphics that may help.

***Fixes in v1.0.1***
- Fixed issue in final level with some buttons suddenly no longer functioning.
- Fixed membrane explosion when recycling membrane quickly.
- Possibly fixed fatty acid glitch in Level 3
- Fixed two typos

There is still an issue with getting stuck too far outside of the colored area. Solution - don't go out there. :) It's a somewhat complicated fix, so I'm not sure if we'll get it in or not, but it's the easiest to avoid too.

Epic and educational!

The biological accuracy of this game is great, gameplay is good and pretty easy, you should make more levels or an endless arcade mode.

Some bugs were annoying, like when I couldn't use the Golgy Body and build peroxisomes after a while...
You should make a mode in which you can make fatty acids and glucose from amino acids.

Despite these annoying bugs, the game is great.

Pure Awesomeness

I must say this, thats the MOST aweosme flash game I ever played. It is contains enough educational aspects and a more friendly apporach to biology I curently learn in High School, it makes the whole idea more friendly and funny too.

If I could I could give this game 100 out of 10 because its really well made, funny, educational and not boring at all. This goes straight into my favorites and I tell you, every second you spent making this was worth it.

First FUN educational game!

I thought this would be one of those shitty educational games that elementary or middle school science classes try to make, but this is amazingly good!

There's a glitch at the alligator stomach level
I think like after you collect 1500 AA, you can't create anything anymore. Only Slicer Enzymes can be made; all the other stuff, no matter how much i click, they just don't work. FIX THAT PLEASE AND THIS GAME WILL BE PERFECT!

CellCraft responds:

Thanks for the kind words! :) Sorry about that glitch - we think we've fixed it up. I've uploaded the new version to NG (v1.0.1 if you want to check) - I'm not sure how long it takes to get approved though, but once that's up the bug should be fixed.
