*edit* Thanks for the FRONT PAGE Tom & thanks to everyone for the DAILY 4TH! <3

Okay, I made this for June's Animation Club Screening in Melbourne to the theme of fairytales.

I figured that you can tell any old story and call it a fairytale, so I thought I'd test that theory out. I took some storyboard sheets out drinking with me one night, and took turns with friends drawing the next frame of the story. It came out hilarious, weird and senseless. When I woke up in the morning I looked it over, giggled and then over the next week I animated it. Just to keep things interesting, the majority of the linework was animated one night while drinking a few glasses of red, making sure it didn't lose it's drunken edge.

The funniest thing is that I think it really works as a piece for kids, it's really innocent in a weird sort of way. Just don't tell them that we were wasted when we came up with it... I may do this again some time, everyone involved seemed to get a real kick out of it.

That was the best thing I've seen all week.

I feel almost, honoured to have watched it.

It made me smile, and really cheered me up, after a fairly poo day.

It made me laugh as well. Looveed the music too.

This is just awesome beyond beliefe.

TheBoogley responds:

really?! that's fantastic news! I'm puffing my chest out with pride!! YEAH!! :D

Captures the spirit PERFECTLY

It is positively eerie how much the story structure resembles the actual original fairy tales. Which, if you think about it, all had to start somewhere... perhaps around a table at some ancient pub-equivalent...

TheBoogley responds:

Yeah! I'm picturing the brother's grimm telling gross-out stories at the pub! I can't wait to be making up bed time stories for my child in a few years, he's going to give me the best material to work with! :D
