This game is about two lovers named January and September.
No, wait; it's about a group of people who don't believe in the sky.
No, it's about a pantheon of scientific disciplines.
Or maybe it's about an ancient beast who knew exactly when it was going to die, and how.

It's about a place. A place called Looming.

Love it

I love the sense of mystery and exploration. Learning of the world you've created is engaging as well. One fault: I don't play games for hours on end (maybe sometimes :P), needs a save system.

Although I am a fan of all of your games, I found Looming to be one that I just could not give up on until I had found all the endings. I enjoyed it in its entirety, but I will let the other (longer) reviews speak for me, as I believe they sum it up rather well. I enjoy art games because they break up the games that require you to shoot or jump through hoops for a high score with no bit of story to motivate me into playing. Please keep spinning these great interactive stories and I will continue to spend (if needed) hours of my time completing them. I must say that I cheated when it came to the final ending by reading another users instructions, because *spoiler* I never would have bothered going into the corners of Looming *end spoiler*

Simply, Amazing.

This game is nothing shiny... It is graphically wise to say at the least, severly impaired... Or at least that is the first thing you make out of it.

In the most clever of ways is this game masked. A true masterpiece under a coat of black and white pixels making no sense in the beggining, actively trying to persuade someone that has just started and is at no disposition to value the game for what it truly is, to quit in the first 5 seconds handing out a bad review telling you to "get lost from NewGrounds"...

You my friend, should have, are and must always be Newgrounds...

Games like this remind me of how videogames came to be one of the arts. Truly magnificent, with its hidden plots, items to unfold these plots and of course, the chilly atmosphere of shadows and distant voices every now and then.

Science vs Religion. A subject that we all have been hearing. Put in the extremes, true enough. Yet your depiction of it in this game, is of such an extent that, I'd love to go out with you mate, share a cup of joe and talk about anything! It really shows a man has gone after knowledge that he wished for himself and not forced into from others. Tells a lot about how you're an uneasy spirit (just like the protagonist might I add)

In any way, I could keep mumbling on, but I'm sure that if you've read all this you must be tired, even though it is but a mere fragment of the picture I try to give. And not just this game, but any of your games which I have all played and loved.

Put in simple words: 5/5, 10/10.
Marvelous. Keep this up.

(btw, if you hold one direction (say right) and then tap the keys to move diagonally (in this case up/down), you can tap dance :D!!!)

Surreality strikes

Seeing how this game is not our typical fast paced shooter or just another TD, I feel obliged to... change my criteria. In a good way.
The casual player might find the graphics to be "ugly" and low-end, but I really think this is the best way to portray the game. The 1D graphics give this retro, eerie feel that is integral to the game.
The concept of learning through exploration is implemented very well; like cafeenerush21 at first I felt like "...WTF", but I got engaged in the story and the clues about the creature, people, and the protagonist. The idea of these cultures and the contrast between them is very interesting. Really, you could make anything out of this game, as long you get engaged and think about it.
Not seeing the sky?
I really want to see a sequel from you. A map would be welcome; The clue about the "second post" was really irritating, as I couldn't remember where/what I've read.
PS: Some medals aren't working, the "collections" for example. But whatever, it's not that important.
