NOTE: THIS GAME IS ENTIRELY KEYBOARD-CONTROLLED. Do not mistake a lack of response upon clicking on "New Game" as the game freezing on you, because this game does not allow mouse input. Use either of the select keys displayed in the Control Screen (SPACE or ENTER) to confirm your highlighted option. We have received a number of embarrassing comments from users believing the game to be broken at this point, even after continuing on from the Control Screen that states this fact. Don't make a buffoon of yourself, folks.

It's been a long time coming, but we've finally finished our enormous old school RPG, Epos. Assume the role of Tradda d'Bolve and embark on a daring mission to destroy the rogue Admiral Horn. With dozens of unique enemies, epic boss battles, and tons to unlock and collect as you chart the expansive map, this is one of the largest flash games ever made.

If anyone catches any issues, please PM them to CaptainPoncho so we can continue to refine the game. Hope you enjoy it, and sound off if you manage to beat the game.

Pretty good

The game is quite fun and addictive, with good graphics. But you should really add some options to buy new weapons and armor, and customize your characters. It really reminds me of the old game Golden Sun

I have got all the awards in-game after beating every bosses(including hidden ones) on challenge level.... however, some of the medals at newsground is still not achieved...... is there a different objectives to complete for the newsground medals?

anyway, it is a great game.... furthermore, it is auto save...even when the entire party get obliterated i can continue from before the fight.

I have just finished this game, and I have to tell you that I utterly, utterly love it. I actually totally fucked up my character development, but I still crushed the final boss with ease. My favorite part of this game was the varied boss battles, with enemies that were weird, and a few that were even pretty creepy. The Demon of Stamily being the ultimate example of the later.

The combat was fun, and though it did involve doing the exact same things over and over again, it was never so repetitive so as to remove the element of fun. The varied enemies and abilities kept combat lively. The art style was wonderful and simple, but I absolutely loved it.

My favorite game. All my fives for this.

Major Glitch

After I beat the game, any signet I equipped deleted the currently equipped one from my inventory. The game was nice enough to autosave immediately after, so they're gone now.

A slick and engaging RPG

I love the graphical style and gameplay. The story is sparse but serviceable. Getting all of the medals involves a bit of grinding, but even that wasn't terrible.

Some gameplay hints and tips:

- Skills that cost 3TP are generally not worth the cost; they use huge amounts of MP or orbs, and you can easily beat the game and get all the medals without them. Revelation is nice to have, though; saves a lot of time and grief with the later bosses.

- Make sure everyone has Meditate and your magic users have Serendipity. As long as you keep fighting/defending, your orbs are an unlimited source of HP and MP.

- Watch the top of the map screen; it tells you where to find the optional mini-bosses, all of which have nice signets for the taking.

- I'm not convinced that the well-known Toby the Wendigo "glitch" is an accident. Once you're strong enough to beat him consistently, he makes a handy punching bag to grind up all of your spells (not just fire!) and several levels. When you're done, he drops some cash and items and completely replenishes you. Thanks, Toby!

- The optional boss requires more luck than skill, as he moves fast and spams an instant death attack. Fortunately, the game automatically restores your last save after a party wipe, so you'll get your items back.
I find it helps to have a diverse party, where each member has a specialty and a second talent. For instance: Tradda was my main magic attacker, Cochran also had access to offensive magic but was mainly a healer, Rhydol had the basic heal spell but was mainly a physical attacker, and Tradda had physical attacks to fall back on when his MP ran out.
Each turn, both attackers should use their strongest available attack or cast Fixate if they have the orbs for it (Fixate's effects last even if the caster is killed and resurrected, so very useful for this fight), while the healer focuses on keeping everyone standing and healthy and his own MP full. Be liberal with healing spells and items.
As soon as someone dies, look at the health meter for your other two characters. If everyone else's health is over 800, resurrect the dead character immediately and get his health back to full (Revelation lets you do this in a single step) before you do anything else. If either surviving character's health is below 800, heal them before you do anything with the dead guy.
After that, it's just a matter of time. Stay alive, keep chipping away at his health, and enjoy your medal.
