I wanted to build something confrontational, that would engage players to give thought to what they are doing both in and out of game.
The result is 'Loved' - a short story in the form of a flash platformer.
1. It should be much easier to perform precise drops now
2. Resurrecting inside walls should no longer be possible
3. Slope-related glitching should no longer occur
4. Added a small secret
I don't think there really is a secret. I think you just want us to look for something that isn't there. Just another meaningless task for us to perform.
Besides that, I really like this game :D it's been fun, although I wish it were longer with more endings.
It puts you in a scenario where somebody loves you, but then begs you to ask yourself... how much abuse and control are you willing to take for love? Is it really love? Do you want more?
If you side with the controlling "lover" your world stays dark, bland, and empty... if you throw yourself at the mercy of change your life is full of color and excitement.
It says to think about the actions you make in the game and in life. If you act in the game the way you honestly feel and would act in real life, maybe, just maybe it'll give you a glympse at who you are inside.
Thats my 2 cents anyways.
First of all let me start by saying that it was a really good game. I liked the way it looked, the music and the fact that you didn't lose my attention at any moment.
I loved playing this game.
But i also have to say something about the people who are taking this game to serious. I can understand that you think there is some sort of spiritual, deep meaning in this game but i really don't think that is the case. I'm a Philosophy student myself and in my opinion the deep side in this game isn't so deep at all. And my last point is for the people who don't believe me. Try to make a game like this, and at certain moments you just put a random question. Let other people play this game and tell them this game makes you think about yourself. They will all believe this and they will all find a meaning behind it.
You did a good job on the game, it makes you think. which is good. and something that not enough people seem to think is important. the system of you follow instructions, you get better graphics was also nice. however, when the thing pixelates real bad, its almost impossible to play.
@PimpMyLlama: it might be a Newgrounds flash game, but why not put a deep game into it. when you think about it, a site like Newgrounds is the perfect place for a deep game, because it is, for one, free. and it will also put your games out, deep or otherwise, for free as well. many people go on Newgrounds so your "newgrounds flash game" can get out to more people as well.
I kept failing in the beginning, but I was so interested in seeing, what other things I need to choose and I was interested in the story also, so I played it to the end.
Kinda special game, I didn't understand much myself, but no game has gotten my interest to play it to the end before like what this one maid.
