I wanted to build something confrontational, that would engage players to give thought to what they are doing both in and out of game.
The result is 'Loved' - a short story in the form of a flash platformer.
1. It should be much easier to perform precise drops now
2. Resurrecting inside walls should no longer be possible
3. Slope-related glitching should no longer occur
4. Added a small secret
I always love these kind of mind games that have a deeper meaning, including yours 10/10.
geez, nicely done man! I thought it was great how you blended story and game. This is going in my favorites.
An interesting experience.
Here, the narration is manipulating and strange. It's great; a perfect break from the ordinary. The ability to disagree or disobey with the narrator creates a much more engrossing game than the more normal process of simply following orders.
The part I liked most about this game, however, is how the enviroment changes based on the player's choices. The player is given a different perspective based on his actions - its a excellent idea that deserves further exploration.
That was interesting! I loved the narrative of it, how it was one-sided. And because it was so controlling, I began to feel real animosity towards it. But then, at the end, I started to feel almost sympathetic... It was really different, and really good. My only qualm was the difficulty at some parts. Though, given the short length of the game, it made sense, if only to lengthen it.
Great game, good sir.
SWEET! And i understand it.
*Spolier alert* If you follow it throughout, it says it loves you and that it controls you and that you are its. So at the end you come into a big room and you see this floating disc thing at the end, i figured it out (i think) that that thing is a coin of some sort and the thing speaking to you was greed, and it could control your body, or mind because it would take over your life if you followed what it said, as jumping into a pit of spikes for money. Thats just what i think :)
