Hey make sure you're LOGGED IN for this one. The medals unlock new levels and new modes.

This is a platformer with 30 stages where you have to manuevre your way out of booby-trapped underground caves. The main trap is that sand's flooding in, but it'll introduce other stuff along the way.

I made most of this game like a year ago, when it was just blue-gray blocks jumpin around. I couldn't work out a good aesthetic where the floor was rising but DOESN'T affect the environment. It was only recently when I was thinkin about something completely different an I thought OH YEAH, DUHR, SAND. SAND IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE ABOUT. Then I came back n finished it, made the guy a desert babe.

One o the early ideas I had was that it was a small girl trapped down a well, and the game was called "Let's Get Outta Here". Another idea was that you were on a sinking ship and water was flooding in.
I got the MAIN idea from a level in Jak and Daxter 1 where you're in this silo and this black poison business is rising up, but there's LOADS of games that do a similar idea. I took most of the code from Mighty Tower, a game I made last year which was mostly based on Meat Boy.

Thanks to Newgrounds fo sponsoring, and everyone else who wanted to sponsor.
Also "Pimp of Persia" is like the best named track on the site.

Good job!

The great things that made this game were:
*Music (good choice).
*Cool and stylish buttons.
*Newgrounds medals.
*Sweet and sensitive controls.
*A well made fresh idea/concept.
*Two extra modes that enhance gameplay.

But it has a few bugs and some bad points. For example:
*There's no pause button.
*You can just RIGHT CLICK -> FORWARD.
*Sometimes you can jump on lava/spikes.
*Walljumping can get really annoying.
*Some trouble with medals.

Overall, amazing game. Congrats.

Decent little game

I wouldn't classify this as a 'puzzle' game, since it's more about speed than figuring stuff out. Still, a nice simple game.
Also, it's not really quicksand. It's kinda more like... sand.

Absolutely Excellent

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. As soon as I started playing I was intrigued by the concept, and I found that it worked amazingly well. Although the controls were a little bit oversensitive, I found that with patience and practice they worked well for the task. I was strongly reminded by NGame by some of the jumping sections, and the feel of the walljump.
I did finish the game on Lava Mode, and I have to say that some of the last few rooms on that are diabolical - but in a good way. A way that is punishingly hard but doesn't get annoying to keep dying to, as gamer error is the most likely cause of deaths in this game - though I did at first think there was a bug whereby you occasionally died from long falls, but it turned out to be just the lava reaching the level of the floor!
Overall, a fun, challenging, and excellently presented game that I found a joy to play.
