Adrellia Village: Season 1, Episode 6:
6/9/10 - Invasion

Drake is sleeping, and is awakened in the middle of the night. He finds out that death knights are invading the castle!

To Be Continued...

Also, the song playing is, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. If you don't like the song, please don't vote 0 as I put lots of effort into this flash. Thank you.

Well this one had almost no voice acting but this one wasn't too bad at all. Although as for song I think I would have chosen Seek and Destroy instead as it would have been slightly more fitting if you ask me. Aside from that, this one turned out better.

The thought bubbles help fill in the void of no voice acting for the most part which works for the most part here. The animation was also very nice here and the shading in the background seems to have gone over well too. Very nicely done though for the sixth episode.

Overall, much better.

Art/Ammation: 3 stars.
Movement and forms are smooth, which are the good parts of this animation. However, the character movement (again) was unrealistic. Let their legs move. The bed could have used a flash-made bed. Also, the sword fighting event was way too simple. The enemies could have used some splattered blood when struck. The text could use some smoothing when they appeared, and could have zoomed-out a bit.

Voice/Music: 4 stars
The music was nice, but Brutes' voice could use some re-arrangement. His sentances seem to collapse a big (he says a sentance and then a sudden unrealistic stop). His voice could also use some smoothing. The rest was good; fighting effects, music, all good.

Plot: 2 stars.
This episode is not extremely entertaining. Very short, so not much of a good show to see. It's appretiated to add episodes into this work. Viewers always like long episodes instead of multiple short stories.

For an episode with a sound track consisting of Enter Sandman, I was expecting a lot from this, but you've given me literally nothing to go on. Giving us plot that is exposed through two or three lines of text is plain bad. The writing needs the most work, so that you can then expand upon it in the story board section, followed by making it into a decent piece.

Sure, text gags have been used in Star Wars parodies for ages, but that said and done, we just don't put up a blank canvas and write on it, during a modern film. Express it without words, as a picture is worth a thousand of them. I write in a form that I one day hope will be professional, but that aside, I cringe when I see this shortcut used. In cartoon terms, it's the sort of shortcut that Homer takes and they turn up in the next scene with half of the car replaced with wood and a badly fitting wheel. I'm not sure why you gave us one tip about Drake hurting his elbow, but you can show that in some detail, easily. I can even relate to it, having chipped a bone in my elbow a few years ago.

Now, I want to see something happen in the next episode, so that it at least shows signs that you might improve later in the series. I'm fortunate to have seen some of the later ones, because I intend to nurture that progress and help you make the series better.

Thank you. The next episode is six minutes long and provides backstory, not necessarily plot advancement, but Drake makes it to Medrellia to warn the king.

Hm, the sound quality of Brutus' voice in the brief review of the previous episode is pretty good. No static noises here at all.

Too bad the episode is so short again. Just when you think the story starts to flow there's another cut and another "to be continued". Not very satisfying. :(

Anyway, "Enter Sandman" was put to good use here. I liked how the short sword battle started right when the song started to become heavier. That was good timing there.

MistyEntertainment responds:

Yeah, I noticed that from episode 5 around the time this was made so I fixed it. Eventually I forgot to swap out episode 5 with an improved version that doesn't hurt the viewer's ears.

I guess the "to be continued" thing is so you'll wanna watch the next episode, that way more story elements are revealed faster and more new viewers are introduced to the series. Hopefully my new daily award with Adrellia Village will introduce more people to the series.

Thank you for your review!
