Here's a stop motion video i made for the Death Cab for Cutie song - Your Heart is an Empty Room. The whole thing took me about 3 months and contains over 5000 different pictures. I made it only using monkeyjam for the video and audacity for the audio. Major thanks to Fro who helped me get it into flash so i could show you guys. Sorry about the low quality. That size restriction thing is a huge annoyance. You can watch it on you tube in hd if its a problem - http://youtube.com/watch?

Gorgeous!!

Dude, this was some of the most emotional things I have ever witnessed on Newgrounds! It has even made me understand how Fro could be popular. This is honestly something that should have been front page and become an extreme viral video. These drawings remind me of the hundreds of stuff I drew when I was a kid. It was great to revisit my past and truly learn to embrace the beauty of the world for what it should be. Every single picture was completely worth it to make this masterpiece.

Love the Creativity of this

~~REVIEW~~
Well nice G17 now more stop-motion is ok with me, i kinda like stop-motion myself but anyways, Now for me its always nice to see a "MENU" screen you did have the preloader one, i thought you could have worked off that and have some sorta art work that reflects the movie we are about to see, Now as i watch your little film, it was very impressive, but mostly i found it to be very "CREATIVE" with the whole stop-motion and the style of a paper and drawing and writing stuff, and i have to say for 4+ megs it was pretty smooth or as smooth as you can get with this sorta style, Now i like the drawing on paper idea but why not have it so that the view screen is only on the paper and not the table, just an idea there no biggie on that, As for the "MUSIC" it was a good choice of song, but the quality of it was abit low, kinda scratchy, and needed to really turn up the volume to hear it, but still a good choice i thought, and at the end of your film it starts the loop over, thats notbad, but i think buttons like a replay button would work a lil better, but anyways good creativity, and i enoyed it, hope to see more of your work soon.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
Creat a menu screen even with the preloader button, The quality of the music recording could be better, a replay button at the end would be nice, instead of the looping.

~~OVERALL~~
A good and creative idea with drawing, I enjoyed it.

Great work!

I think that this piece really does show that some stop motion animators are truly underrated on this site. With the way that it all seems to fit together, you've done a grand job, though certain parts do need tidying up a little, just to make the next step.

Some of your animations are ambitious, but a little too drawn out for the synchronisation with the music. If you change these so that we can hear the music singing in time with what is being portrayed on the stop motion, you'd be well away. A little cheat here is to get Fro or someone similar to add subtitles and do away with the word play, while using your animating skills to pass something else on as an interpretation of the music itself.

When you come to the colour choices, the yellow is a little difficult to see, so perhaps a little less of that being used would help you out in future projects? Finally, the lighting conditions changed drastically when you were getting towards the end of the tune - just to keep it all seemingly uniform for the background in the piece, would it have been a better idea to wait until tomorrow for better ambient lighting? That also affected the perception of the yellow, which was a shame.

Kudos to Fro for helping you out here, as this is the sort of work that more people need to encourage, lest it become a forgotten art form.
