Looks like she's having fun
If she's supposed to be frightened, try widening her eyes, dilating her pupils, and making her flail her arms around. The way she ran looked too much like a jog, and I got the impression she enjoys being chased by boulders.
Maybe she does.
And nothing's stopping the boulder from rolling off the cliff, yet it stops. There should be some reason, even if the boulder is alive and stopped itself. Not only that but she stops too. Without looking back, as if she expected the boulder to stop. She should at least turn around at the edge of the cliff to see that the boulder has stopped.
Not bad, but the gag needs a bit better delivery.

I totally agree with you. Dale did the artwork and storyboard, and I just did the animation. When I brought all this up with Dale, his response was, "Fuck it". We're busy with our deadlines and that animation was something that just needed to be over and done with. Thanks for your feedback!

i liked this except for helens facial expression while running from the boulder and the ending but still some decent work

Could you give me a little more insight onto the title?
The only thing i can come up with regards to hitchhiker is, that if she stops running she will become a hitchhiker by being crushed onto it?

This animation is basically a set assignment in which a character must escape from a serious/life threatening situation. Part of the assignment is to create a character along with a bio and background info.
Helen is a hitchhiker. She's returning from an expedition, when suddenly a boulder up a mountain breaks lose and comes towards her. She runs down the mountain to escape. She gets to the bottom. The boulder therefore slows down, just in time before it knocks her off the cliff. I suppose the rabbit was horny. She didn't run to the left or right because she was running in a straight line down the mountain :P
