EDIT: I just want to respond to all of the reviewers saying that the man's character movement was delayed and sometimes had a low frame rate. What you have to understand is that this animation was put together in Motion not Flash. So in order to actually have the man in the animation I had to export him as a mov. file with an alpha channel from Flash and import him into Motion. This created a bunch of timing problems which weren't my fault and that is why you see some delays. But I personally think that despite all of the problems I encountered when getting Flash animation into Motion, the timing isn't actually that bad, but I will agree that the animation lags a little bit in a couple of places. But yeah, I just wanted to clear a few things up, cos I did put a massive amount of work into this, it took me over 2 months to make.

A man misses the bus and comes across a mysterious box in a back alley. Is this just an ordinary box? Or is it something much more than that?!

For those wondering, this animation was made using Flash CS4/CS3, Motion 3 and Swift 3D v.6. Oh yeah and the track used is: All For U (Instrumental) by RJD2.

A Metamorphosis...

not only of the box but of the entire storyline - I really dig that. At first very nightmarish, but with a surprising twist (at least for me) and with a happy end I didn't expect earlier.
Very good, I hope to see more from you, Nicholas!
So... maybe I am just a Fanboy, but I can live with it ;)

pretty good...

Needs more love

I really enjoyed watching this cartoon even if it did not have the most action or anything. I loved it because the animation was just fantastic and it is obvious you put tons of effort into this with all of the programs you used. You have no clue what is going to happen next. I have always been a fan of drawing spider legs for some reason and this seems just like something that I would draw. I recognize the music, but not the name of the band who plays it. With more action and a story, this could be more popular.

Good start but it feels a bit incomplete

The Good: The paper effects gave the short a unique feel, and the choice of music was exceptional (I plan to buy it!). Kudos for having such an original story.

What needs improvement: While you absolutly deserve your daily 3rd, with a few minor tweeks this short would belong in the top weekly four. 1) The ending felt abrubt, cutting off the plesent feelings that this flash gernerated. I am no artist, but mabey a slow fade into credits with random commets or a replay button with music would give the music a better place to end on. 2) This may have to do more with the importation of the 3-D effects into flash than with you, but the character's movements seemed a bit blockey and...delayed. 3) The movement of the box's leggs felt a bit out of sync with the speed of the background.

Overall, good job and I look forward to more of your work! 4/5 8/10
