Good
The Bowser fight is borderline unfair. The sound cues for the cannonballs becomes totally unreliable when going for the second tier of switches and above, with the cannonball sound occurring after the ball has already passed you.
Also, in a platformer, it's better to NOT have the character skate around like he's on ice all the time. It makes it very difficult to make single-tile jumps.
Other than that, a fairly easy game, didn't die more than a few times.

Keep designing
Okay, I don't do many reviews, but I had to do this one. As some backup, I watched some of your other works, and browsed your website, and I have to say, you're a good designer. In the commercial sense, that is. The game is completely bugless, smoothe, and easy on the eyes.
But in reality, this is still a game. And in that aspect, it really is a piece of scrap metal coated in chrome. It has the most blant of gameplay. Really the easiest, basic kind of platformer, posing as a Mario game. If gamedesign is what you want to do, I would love to see a future game where you really put some effort in to create something out of the box.
I don't want to go against the masses' opinion (wow, 17 million), but with your design skills, I'd hate to see you disapear in the jaws some faceless flash game massproducer, producing blant clones of classics, where I actually feel this belongs.
Ooooooh don't worry, the mayority of my games will be my own work. Infact, the next few games will be all mine so this is just something refreshing for me to work at, immitating what Nintendo does best but don't worry, I'll get back doing what Kenney is best at.

Awesome
Animation was super smooth and the sprites were clean and refreshing.
I especially liked the opening yoshi's island thing.
the only thing I didn't like is there were no power ups at all. That's important to me i suppose.

good mario game, but with little differences
its a great game, i can't denie that.
but u forgot some things(or just left them out) from the original games:
1.the mushroom is missing - but it doesn't matter, cuz the game is easy anyway.
2.the blocks that move up(or break when ur big) isn't there - same thing as 1.
and there is a glitch: at level 3(of the second map) when i got the 1st star, it kept showing, that i got 200 points(over and over again)
othr then that this is a great game
