This is an old version of the game. You can play the new version at http://www.explodingrabbi t.com/games/super-mario-b ros-crossover
I loves itz!
It is pretty cool, not too easy, not too hard.
The best part is how you can choose Samus Aran!
I have EVERY single one of the Metroid games!
I love Metroid Prime 1 & 2!
If you make more, however, keep the game and just add more characters!
I ALWAYS PICK LINK
MAN THIS IS A GOOD GAME!
Awesome game. Personally, I would've used the Link from Zelda 2.
The All-Stars of the NES Want To Play.
There is no doubt that many people still love the old retro games. Whether it's to relive memories of sitting in front the wooden television with controller in hand, or just for the sake of it being retro, old-school is slowly becoming new-school as I have said long before.
Sometimes sticking to the past is a good thing and innovation is made, while other times it's a complete cop-out to get money from nostalgia and turns to a complete disaster, coming to the player's realization that maybe this game wasn't that great after all.
Then there are other times when the past decides to come together for a party and reunion that most likely ends in some kind of bar fight, just look at "Super Smash Bros." and the "vs. Capcom" series for example. Collab games such as these made by a team of pro developers somehow involved in each of the games is one thing, but a collab game being made by some kid on the internet is a whole other story. In my experience, the latter games usually end in a big mess which I predicted this would be upon reading the concept that the All Stars of the grey box went to go play in grandpa's house. But the keywords that last sentence was "would be", as I was basically misconcepted like Fox News.
The gameplay may be standard and the soundtracks and the design may still remain the same, but the game is completely fresh with the new moves possible to perform by the various NES heroes. Finally I was able to fulfill my imaginary fanfiction of going Rambo on those goomba bastards, with the guy from Contra with a name most people don't know or care about. Finally I was able to fulfill my weird sexual innuendo fantasy of Samus Aran curling up into a ball and shoving bombs down the pipes flushing out pirahna plants and the kind of plumbing Mario could never do. Finally I was able to fulfill my plans of using Simon Belmont to....die. Yeah as warned, some characters such as Simon Belmont seem to have abilities that make the game harder such as stiff air manueverability, while other characters such as Megaman seemed to be overpowered as his Mega Buster seems to be at the right height to hit almost anything along the way as well as his slide ability to fit in tight spaces. But with all these new characters ready to rock and roll, they seem to have forgotten that they are still only guests and have completely neglected the moustacioed man they began to VG party, and I have a feeling that most players will be doing the same. I mean the oppurtunity to play as other people besides Mario and godly Luigi is indeed to good to miss, but it's always nice once in a while to go back to basics and play the game as it originally should. But through it all, it's nice to be given the choice like "SMB2" aka "Doki Doki Panic" style and set new strategies to achieve new heights of the game and replayability.
This game is indeed promising with the new options, but I also feel that the game could've done more. Maybe it could've combined the efforts of "Tuper Tario Bros" and also made the Tetris gameplay into good use. Also it could've helped if some levels of the other games were playable.
I also feel the this game should deserve a sequel for the SNES within the world of "Super Mario World". But until then, let's just relive the good old days with this collage of a game.
