Visable
The mouse is still viable even after just fainter. What your using I think is a mask over top of the mouse. the thing is the mask is not perfectly in sync with the back ground. Having keen eyes such as mine or others makes it very much still visible. Oh yes and the tab thing is also a problem. Though there is not much you can do about that.
