Hello people!

"People of Punk-o-matic 2" is 38 minutes worth of city event clips from the game Punk-o-matic 2. I decided to make this because a lot of work went into these little unlockable clips and I feel that I owe it to Jaxxy, Tomamoto, DruoxTheShredder, Rina-chan, Sapphire and myself to make sure they are viewable by everyone. I'm sure most people haven't played Punk-o-matic 2 enough (or at all) to have unlocked all these clips so here they are, in higher audio quality for your viewing pleasure.

Keep in mind that the nature of these clips is simplistic, light-weight and served as story build-up in the game's world. I hope you'll enjoy them :D

Comments are always welcomed! Cheers!

Not what I was expecting

Kinda boring after the first 3 areas
humor was alright
but I just couldn't get into it like the others here
nice work all in all 5/10 and 3/5

I'm with Satan on this one

When the outcome doesn't satisfy me, realizing how much effort went into it won't change my mind. And it shouldn't.

Despite a common misconception, writing, voice acting and drawing 5 poses for each character is not a lot of work. (It also can't be called 'animating' by any means) Dragging it for over half an hour was your own damn choice and you should expect at least a few honest responses, and take them like a man, not whine your way out of it. (never seen you do the first, though)

But apparently you don't learn from your mistakes and don't benefit from criticism AT ALL. When you came out with the first "Punk-o-matic", the game was simple and fun but it was pointed out many times that the 'Dude!' part was not amusing in the slightest. The 'animation' style was of no value either, and the voice acting sounded forced (no wonder, the dialogue was retarded).

And now years later you come up with the exact same shit. The game was tuned up much, a bit too much, lacked the simplicity and lightness of the previous one, but it was still ok. But the cutscenes are there again, and your idea of making them better is to make them... longer. A 100 times longer, no less!

Your author comments were the only reason I left a review. These are just cutscenes for a flash game. There is absolutely no reason for you to make them into what they're not and won't be. Now, I discarded any comedy value of these clips already. They also can't be called simplistic or light-weight (light-weight?). They simply lack meaning and purpose, or any substance at all.

Moving on to the story. It's the empty, soulless kind of filler made just for the sake of it. You avoided everything that could've made it engaging and interesting. The characters are cliche and bland piles of stereotypes. What story? What build-up? It's plain old filler! Knowing people actually WORKED on it makes me want to be even more harsh because I wouldn't want anyone to repeat something like this ever again.

I can take something like this in a game, but by themselves, these clips are trash. You stand nowhere near most of Newgrounds' flash artists in terms of storytelling, or comedy, I won't even start on the visuals and animation. It makes me sick when people who are good at something start thinking they're good at everything.

If you're such a hard worker, you should put more effort in finding the right direction for that work. Or at least a decent script to go by. Until then, stick with making games. They're awesome!

haha what an assholish review man

First of all I don't whine I answer and I explain. Put things into perspective, it's different than whining, I'm not insulting anyone. Since you haven't made a single thing, I can assume you don't know anythign about writing, voice acting, drawing, animating. They all had about 10 poses, so you're saying drawing 60 poses isn't a lot of work? Voice acting half an hour isn'T a lot of work? with redos and experimenting? Writing and planning for 45 situations isn't a lot of work? Don't be insulting.

You seem to be under the impression that your opinion is everyone's opinion, who said the dude thing wasn't funny, some people and yet tons of people found it funny so where do you get that idea that it wasn't amusing or wasn't a good idea or anything. You give me a 3 here and most people give me a 10, what does that say? that you're right? no, it means yuo have an opinion which is valid, but don't try to generalize it, you're not in the majority.

I never wanted Punk-o-matic 2 to be simple, I wanted it to be versatile and it is and it came out exactly like how I wanted it. If you don't like it that's fine too. The clips are for the story mode and people who enjoyed the story mode enjoyed the clip I can assure you that. And by the score and reviews of the game and this submission here, I know it was the right way to do it. Make a game with a score of 4.40 and then tell me I did my game wrong. really.

The rest of your review is just you not liking it and rambling about it, nothing to say about that.

You could have written that review in many ways but you decided to write it like a total douche. It's a shame. Especially when your opinion is marginal and that you fail to understand how subjective things are. And the fact that you haven't done anything for yourself is even more descrediting for you, considering the attitude.

Thanks for the review nonetheless

Feeling jipped here

From that long ass intro of you going on about how much work went into them I was expecting something awesome (I know it's for a flash game but still) yeah, it's stills of people with audio over them and they occasionally change poses. Just how I feel!

Evil-Dog responds:

well try it man, write, animate, voice act and draw as many poses for 38 minutes worth of animation and let me rate it 3 saying it wasn't a lot of work.

No offense, but someone else needs to write your script mate... Its obvious that there's a lot of work put into it, but it also feels obvious that it didn't get very far: like half-finished jokes, or okay jokes destroyed by that fat bloke with a tattoo and funny hair. You simply don't respond to a joke with some lousy "pfft" comment - it doesn't improve anything!
Also, constantly being c-blocked by f-tards doesn't help. Simple animations, perfectly okay backgrounds, not as well made interface (even though its nice with continuity, having buttons which do nothing more than bring you to the screen you're already on isn't); but the one point stopping me from giving it anything higher, or letting all this work come to any use is the scripting... Sorry, but the few times it got me chuckling' I was rudely interrupted by some pfft-swearing nut-case. I hear jokes are funny, so that means these weren't jokes? :C
