A game by Bentosmile (ported to Flash by Raitendo)

Bentosmile's comments:

Air Pressure is a visual novel game that I've been working on on-and-off for a while. It has only three different endings, but a lot of branches!

I hope you enjoy it. It is quite a serious game, I guess. :)

...

its good, i really enjoyed it but from the get go i knew something was up :) but when i ended up in the hospital it finally dawned on me that this game was basically a big (well small really and very good) metaphor for some drug im assuming heroine or some other intravenous drug.

hope you make other games with similar qualities in the future bentosmile and raitendo can port them :)

Enigmatic

I played through and got the hospital ending the first time. Then like Chipitz, I read the reviews. I played through again, keeping the whole Leigh-as-drug theme in mind. I think it's about suicide, indecision and depression. He said he felt relief after getting closer to her. And the nurse tells him he's lucky not to have hit any major arteries. But that doesn't really synch up with another path where he says that he needs her to be a better person...

Amazing, just purely amazing

It's going to be very hard to write a review on my thoughts for this game, but here goes.

This review has spoilers, so I would recommend playing it before reading this.

My first go through I just thought it was a relationship with a girl, just a simple thing, but when I got the ending with the hospital, it all hit me. The kid cuts himself. Simple as that. Leigh is simply a representation of him cutting himself. Not only would this explain the hospital ending, but why she sort of ''statics'' out by the ending too. He's starting to let go, but it's up to you as the player whether you want him to keep it going. The other reason I feel it's him cutting himself is because the nurse simply says ''You're lucky you didn't hit any arteries or veins.''

It's incredible how you could've made something that looks so innocent and simple into a very compelling and jaw droppingly disturbing story. It's been such a long time since I've played something that actually affected how a story could be told as the player conceives it.

I have no doubt in my mind that of almost ANY Flash game I ever played, this one is the one that truly creeped me out the most by its conclusion.

I don't have any more words that could describe how I feel about this, because, frankly, I can't think of any that could describe how I felt about this sudden realization. All I can say is thank you for creating something so original and so serious about its issue. Anything else I would say after that would be pointless ramble, as there is no other way I could put this game.
