UPDATE: Wow! Front page! Thank you! I'd like to say that, yes it doesn't have much of a story, but it's only supposed to be a fun run-and-gun platformer made in a little over a week. And yes, we love Cave Story!

UPDATE 2: Now with a better intro and some tweaks.

Made for Flixel February!

Press P to pause. You can also use SPACE to jump and CTRL to fire.

We got it in *just* under the wire, and it's kind of rough. If you find any bugs or problems, let us know!

You, the lone crew member on a small vessel, find a space station near the edge of explored space beaming out a distress call. As anyone would do in such a situation, you blindly investigate.

Features include multiple weapons, rocket jumping, fast physics, and a retro style.

I would like to thank Synteza for producing the loops for us. They're awesome.

Same grade as cave story, except shorter.

I got the good ending where you save everyone.
This is a great game, you deserved to win.

Melee weapon is Overpowered!

-I somehow got lost and ended up facing the defective computer right after I obtained my 2nd weapon(the melee 1). Somehow managed to defeat it by dodging the lasers and going melee on the computer.
-I continued on and met the giant green blob. Well using the same tactic, I switched to melee and ran next to it while holding down "C" and proceeded to shoot the shyt out of the remaining tiny green blobs with my 1st weapon once the boss died.
-The countdown to escape began. It seemed more effective to dodge the grey blobs than to waste time killing them. While escaping, I found the Rocket Launcher but didn't really feel the need to use it often. Didn't bother picking up the Purple Coloured Gun(watever it was)
-In the end I escaped with only 3 types of weapons, 11/11 hp and 20/20 rockets.

Conclusion:
The melee weapon is OVERPOWERED
-It slices through both enemies and boxes like a knife cutting through butter/tissue
-The fact that it can kill both bosses proves so!

Overall a great game(+10)!
However I only figured out the whole storyline at the ending screen(-1).
And I stand by my point with the melee weapon being overpowered, which kind of makes the other weapons redundant(-1).
-Should have added some abilities(higher jump, etc) or quest items(keys, etc) to prevent access to bosses too early on(-1).

Perfect while waiting for Cave Story for WiiWare

This game might borrow a ridiculus ammount of content from Cave Story, but its better bringing in the good than bad.

Very nice

I love these kind of games.
I was thinking "A game can be simple like this and still be very much fun". But I immediately realized how wrong I was. There's nothing simple about it. The game draws me in like a good book. Well composed with music, easy controls, nice little story and great "pixel-graphic".
Well done! :)
