--woah, thanks Tom. I was REALLY not expecting front page for this!

This is my newest animation. I started it near the end of january and finished it up leading up to now.

I ended up with a lot of time off (well.. a week) after exams were done with so I got back to my cave and felt like animating a little. I know its been ages since I've submitted anything, let alone something solo. I want to be more regular about it for the next little bit and I've got some ideas to work away at.

As for this piece, I like how it turned out. Its definitely a calm, relaxed experience. You ultra-violence folk might not like it much, but thats alright.

I think it's the first time I've used Flash's blurs in anything. Usually I don't like them much but they fit in a couple places here.

Its up to you to read into the 'story' if you choose to. There's only one subtle thing that makes it kind of clever. Maybe someone will catch it, maybe not.

Its pretty long for me, actually. Its 112 seconds. Usually I'm lucky to beat 1:15. AND its 24 fps, so thats like, 2684 frames. woah dude.

oh also I made all the music. its very plunky! I only had garageband and my computer keyboard to work with, but yeah, that was fun too.

Anyways, hope you like it. Leave reviews with your thoughts, I usually respond.

hmmmm

I guess I enjoyed this movie. And I loved the style, simple but accomplished what it needed.

My critique: Could of had a little more story behind it, possibly he meets a girl on the train and you could show them holding hands or viewing out the window.
Though the music was fitting, tit could have had more variety, it got repetitive around the end.
Also, the imagery got a little repetitive as well, though every scene was pulled off nicely there could of been more variety (e.g. the part about him meeting a girl).

All in all a nice movie that I'm giving a 4/5 for the effort, just remember to work on your storyline and your movies will be great.

Very nice

I liked the style alot, the music was fitting to say the least. If you feel like you want to make something simular i say go for it. Could you enlighten me on the 'one subtle thing' ?

srsly, seamless blend between music and animation.
good pacing. simple is often better. and will get better results.

Candy!

It was totally like candy for me. I loved the scribbly style, it was cute.
As for the 'story', all I can say is "shit happens", but I don't see why it has to be just bad things.
What else to say? It was cute, it was candy, and I liked it enough for a 10. :]

train kept rollin

at the beggining the train looked wierd and the music kept repeating itself.
and at the ending it wouldove been nice have have more people aboard leave the train.
