** EDIT **-----------------------

ANOTHER POSSIBLE FIX: In internet explorer go to Tools>Internet Options>Security tab>Click Trusted Sites>Click the "sites" button and add to the list. Make sure require server verification in unchecked and make sure the enable protected mode button is uncheck as well in the trusted sites section. I have no way to verify this but it seems viable. Let me know if it works.

If that doesn't work try playing the game in Popup mode.

FIRST: THANKS to Tom Fulp for setting up the Power of Three event last summer.
SECOND: If you get stuck watch the video walkthroughs accessable through the in game menu.
THIRD: In the boss fight, watch for the blue target... and prehaps use your blue ability where it is pointing...
FOURTH:If the game runs slow for you right click and lower the quality settings until the game runs at normal speed.

Primary has been a long project for FrozenFire and me, we started this back in July... TONS of work have gone into this game and we hope you like it as much as we do.

Primary is about Roy, a super soldier in the land of the HUEman (get it? Ya we are lame.), who must climb to the top of Prizim tower to try to find a way to close the portal that is allowing horrible black goopy creatures into his world.

NOTE: You can play with an x-box controller with an emulator like Xpadder, I am told this also fixes the "Sticky Keys" bug. The elevator menu is able to be controlled with the keyboard as soon as the game has saved so you don't have to use the mouse if you don't want to.

If you are interested in learning more about the process of making Primary you can read my post mortum of sorts here:

This is a truly kickarse game! The one flaw, I think, is the extremely fiddly wall jumping - hitting both across and jump at the same time never works it seems, one always has to use up, across, slide a bit, up, across, etc which is a pain on the long wall jumping sections. Other than that, totally rocks!

This game seems VERY professional, and I do enjoy it, but when entering a level after saving, three fourths of the screen turns grey.
Here's a screencap: /MarioFan222/91fada55.png
The screen reverts back to normal when I restart the game, but it'd still be nice if you fixed this.

YES! That is an error with Newgrounds ads. I KNEW it wasn't just me having that issue. It also happens in other games. If you have this issue please email someone at newgrounds, and at CPMstart to get it fixed it bugs the crap out of me.

Here is a link to my forum post about the issue...

Good. The switching elements makes this an interesting game to play
Secret medal #2: Kill a monster with an ice block.
I had some problems though, like when I faced the first boss I didn't know what to do.

And yet...

I liked the setting and I liked the concept, but some bits didn't work out right. The layout was tricky to remember, since two keys did five different things in three different colors. Even the color keys took me a dozen levels to get used to, because they were out of order with color frequency (RoYgBiv). Customizable keys would make this game a lot more playable.

As for the rest of the game, the slippery floor mechanic was way overused. I can see how they are kind of necessary to justify yellow's power, but too much is too much. I don't think I would mind if one power was used less than the rest.

Speaking of both key layout and overused mechanics, wall jumping was a HUGE issue. Not only was it troubling to have to constantly readjust two directions on one hand (up, side, up, side, up, side, up), the controls to do this were put on the left hand, which would be most players' less dominant hand. Customization is a good solution again, but at the very least, it would have been nice to have an alternative jump button somewhere else.

Other than that, it's a great game. I nearly cried on level 15 when, after trying to climb the damn chute 30 times, I finally got there in time, then died in the next chute. And then I repeated the whole sequence about 7 times. But you know what, I'm still going to try, because despite those two overused mechanics, this is a fun game to play.
