Hello,

Finally the first act is complete!
And you can watch all of them in one greedy sitting.
Be sure to watch them in order (a link to all prior comics is found in the select "comic" page)...
Otherwise this won't make any sense!

This is the last chapter in the "Original Sin" collection of comics, so I took extra time on it,
and made it longer than the others. This one has a big reveal, and also many things explained in subtext,
so those of you who are observant may take more out of this than others.

I hope you enjoy this as it will be the last CoolJaw for a while, however if you add me to you favorites,
I can P.M. you when the first "Tooth For A Tooth" comic is released.

Also if you have the POWER to scout please check out my art, if for no other reason than to
see a vagina with teeth.

Thank you everyone who has supported me,
Sincerely,
- Celx

You did pretty good job with the art in this one. The abstract uses of color every now and then give it a great touch. It's getting hard to say new things about the series because it really doesn't change that much, but I'm sure you don't mind.

~ Story/Content ~

So my prediction did come true! I knew this was going to happen! I think that you build it to continue it from other point of views now if you wanted to continue the story. Like we know that this guy is a killer now so it wouldn't be interesting to keep the story going on about him, but if we had another person perhaps the cops as the main characters in future episodes then it could be really good!

~ Audio ~

Great music and no need for any sound effects or voices. Like I said before different music could have been nice. It's getting to be the same thing over and over.

~ Overall ~

I really enjoyed this so far. I'm off to your other submission now and I'll be all caught up with your flashes. :)

Celx-Requin responds:

Ah yes but the question is what kind of a killer is he?

I really am proud of the art on this one especially the panel that ends the story...
I'm playing around with using more colors, I'm not too sure I want to go overboard though.

Mainly because CS4 is a buggy piece of shit that can't handle fills well...

- Celx

Cool concept

I was a little sketchy when I started reading these, owing to some spelling errors, (roommates refer to me as a grammar nazi on occasion) but the basic concept is really fascinating, and I find myself compelled to continue. Good job.
Also, I have to know, was Silent Hill an inspiration for you, because it's definitely got the feel... and I mean that in a very complimentary way.

Celx-Requin responds:

Yes it was, although not the main inspiration for the series...
I've watched a shitload of movies, read a plethora of books, and played a variety of games,
so I take inspiration from all those.

I tried to do my best to catch the spelling mistakes, unfortunately flash doesn't have spell check,
although I should mention some of the mistakes were on purpose.

Anyway thanks for the review!
Sincerely,
- Celx

Well written

I still think you could so better with the writing in this, as it looks too sketchy when you're looking through the comic page by page - the lack of detail seems to contribute to this, leading to a more scruffy look overall. More work on some sort of standard typeface for sound effects would certainly help you out here.

The plot is very dark and rather macabre in places, leading to more questions, which shows just how well you've written it. I know that you should be more capable of making this longer, as in the combination of more than one of these pieces together, in order to give a well rounded product, that is capable of being published.

Celx-Requin responds:

I try to end them when the story feels "right" to do so.
The next act has some chapters which are pretty long, so that may make some people happy...

Thanks for all your awesome reviews Will!

Raises more questions that it answers...

Now we know who Malik is. Or do we? We haven't seen him yet and can only rely on what Mr. Jaw tells us for the time being. This final episode raises more question that it answers. Which is a good thing! This way you can keep the readers interested. ;)

You introduced three more characters in the last chapter, two of those seem to be main characters. So it will be interesting to see when they will meet with Mr. Jaw. It will also be interesting when we first get to see the mysterious Malik.

So, now that this act is over I have to say your way of telling the story is really good. While the single acts aren't that long (at least it doesn't take too long to read them) they all continue to tell the story and every time I read another act I'm more and more interested in the rest of the story.

Anyway, I hope you continue soon. And I also hope you pick some other music. I don't have anything against the musical selection now, both songs are very nice and fit to the story, but it would still be nice to hear something different. :)

Celx-Requin responds:

I might pick an alternative track for the next series, I just need to find something "appropriate".

I try to end each chapter with a good cliffhanger, so they lead in nicely to the next one, I hopefully will have the first tooth for a tooth story out before the month is done!

Thanks,
- Celx

Nice man...

The story is nice, dark and bloody, a perfect horror story, the comic is very nice, the drawings are great for this kind of story, the faces and expressions are captured nicely well...
I'm becoming your fan, I can't wait to see the next episode of your serie...
Keep it up w/ the criativity!!!

Celx-Requin responds:

Thanks!
Hope you'll catch the start of the new act when it comes out!

Sincerely,
- Celx
