Hello everyone! Here's a massive submission for you!!! I worked very long and hard on this with a bunch of people! I really hope you enjoy Punk-o-matic 2! Create songs, share them, make a band, do concerts & more! Connect with other people on here and on the official website.

Official website:
Official facebook: unkoMatic
Official youtube: er/OfficialPunkoMatic

LAG: If you're having lag problems, lower the quality in the options, reduce the animation level and disable the concert lights. You can also download the game and that should help a lot.

Make sure you check out the Tips in-game and on the Official Website to help you make some awesome songs.

Punk-o-matic Pro is in development. For more information, check out this link (remove the spaces):

The mobile version of Punkomatic 1 will also be available soon.

Good fun

Exellent game, but the occassional lag is definitely killing my ability to get a perfect game. Especially on the slightly more active songs.

Also, it'd be really nice if the song duration could be listed on the sheet selection page.
More covers please!

I return

I actually logged into an account (this one) I abandoned for 2 years just to give you a thumbs up. The possibilities of making your own song are amazing. I'm even trying to make a Tomahawk cover, which is pretty difficult. Amazing game, dude.

Innovative and completely unexpected

I remembered the first Punk-o-matic, so when I saw this, I was expecting another game in a similar vein, except with more music composition options. The Newgrounds medals, however, told me that this was so much more.

The randomization thing for the band was very sweet--it was motivating to earn money and dress the shabby-looking starting group. Hearing the voicework was also an interesting moment; the different commentary and various exclamations added a unique cover to the game. I tweaked around with the compositions, and the way you did it was extremely innovative and streamlined. It was easy to understand, but one thing that would have been a lot nicer would be to include a wider range for the guitar. Oftentimes I found myself wanting a higher note, or an inverted chord that needed a higher note, so the limitation of one octave and a half was kind of disappointing.

Playing the music was a whole other experience. The control scheme is effective, though the lag sometimes added jitters, and the difficulty level was superbly adjusted. I've never thought of the keyboard being an instrument before, but on the hard difficulty some riffs have an unexpectedly instrument-like fingering, haha (Oddly reminded me of violin double-stops at one point).

Like one reviewer mentioned, an indication of note/rhythm length would have been nice, as well as making the screen larger. I understand lag is going to be a huge issue if you scaled up the size, though...yet the idea of having a larger, more comfortable flash size is very appealing.

Regarding the "campaign" of improving and bringing the band to higher levels...the cover concept was cool, but annoying. Playing three minute long songs on Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and etc., is fun because it replicates authenticity. This involves a person sitting in front of a computer screen and keyboard, typing away at a downward surface with their left hand while watching a two-inch radius circle on a 6x7 inch flash window in said computer screen. Mashing keys for three minutes, as amazing as this game is, is also a little limiting. And because not all the cover songs were great (though quite a few were!), it's a little monotonous to chase after covers like an achievement hound. Though I guess that's still kind of fun. Does that nullify my point? :(

Yeah, so, the improving of the band. I liked the progression to different areas, and the random fun flash scenes in there. Granted, I didn't watch all of them, but it's very encouraging to know that an artist has spent the time to put in touches and flairs into a work of hard effort. It could have been fleshed out a little more...perhaps playable events with rival bands, disgruntled fans, or jealous wannabes. I can also imagine another sequel that brings in more instruments, and allows for more members...but I guess the game would no longer be a 'Punk'-o-matic. It still would be a shockingly deep and awesome music game, but imagine people composing rock, techno, classical, or even country songs on it. The most attention-getting quality of this flash is its ability to translate the composed notes into correspondingly playable notes. At the same time, I'm guessing this is what limits it--it requires you, the author, to actually have to put in the corresponding playable notes, and it would eventually have limits on what a person could compose. Luckily, as it is, there are plenty enough combinations for everyone.

On to some of the minor things. The Z key is very useful. The ability to skip the intros by clicking is wonderful. The pre-composed riffs are a great thought. I'm not particularly good at using them though, haha. Manual is a lot easier for me. I also like the personality options, and the way you made the instruments completely customizable. Lastly (or the last thing I can remember), the fact that you added a way to get copy-able tablature from the game's notes is awesome.

So overall, though I'm not a fan of the faux-playing-music game genre, I'm completely blown away by how you integrated that into a flash game. An amazingly great job.

Epic. INCLUDED: Mah first song.

Yes, this song has so many different possibilities your head might explode. The sound is good, but something weird happens so that whenever I press the 4 key, the band members fidget for a split second... maybe it's just my laptop.
