Submission for Newgrounds Xmas '09 - Don't forget to recommend it to the Christmas collection. I guess I'm the last person to submit. Would've done it before, but my dad decided to take away my laptop (because he objects to me doing Flash) and I was pressed for time. I apologize; otherwise, I would have had better graphics and animation.

Finally, after quite a bit of work and far too many obstacles for my own good, I managed to get this done. Instructions are fairly straightforward in-game. Regardless, sit back and enjoy. If you find a bug, PM me or note it in your review.

Thanks,

enjoy.

EDIT1: Did notice a small bug in which the title music doubles over. Not sure what causes it (it doesn't happen when I compile), but it can be easily solved by getting to the game.

Snowball's Chance is a puzzle game, and not a RPG. The controls could be better. Improve the graphics, add more content, and make the game more exciting.

i couldnt get the first lock in the block!

u need to seriously work on smoothness

jayinhar responds:

The first one is pretty simple - I guess it's the way you play it. I'll see how well I can get the box collisions to work out.

lol

Nice ending :P a fun game although I found the first level a bit too long, after doing a couple of locks it starts feeling like a chore having to push the box all over the maze, but at least the map made it easier. I'll look out for the sequel!

Thanks - I'll keep that in mind for the sequel.

Nice

It was good though collision could have been better.
I've read your reply to starrykid and I have to say that this is a incredibly good for a first platformer.

jayinhar responds:

Thanks! The platform level is actually just a modified version of the sliding levels (I cheated a bit and just added gravity. Didn't work out as smoothly as I expected at first, though.)

good

but it just seems like a chore to play the game to me. like the snowball gets caught up alot on the box when im not near it and the box just kinda runs with the ball making it hard. srry but i didnt get past the dice level because the ball seems to get stuck like too much gravity is being put on it when it hits surfaces. and its makes it a little long to find 12 dice. its good to have a story. its good to have a few different game genres into it like for the dice level its a platformer, and for the lock level it has a arcade pacman type, and hopefully later it will have some more. it would make it a very unique game! but srry i didnt get through the whole thing but i did give you a 4/5 for effort. maybe for a sequel have more fluent playability. well good luck

Sure - this was the first time I actually ever made a platform engine; I'll smooth it out for the future. Thanks!
