Author Comments

Many people said in their reviews that the author of the original comic was Legorobot, so I listened to them and changed both the credits and the author comment to give him credit. However, I recently got a mail from Legorobot himself where he told me that he's not the author of the original comic, but that it's someone else with a really similar style.

Since he doesn't want to take credit for someone else's work, I've changed the credits and author comment back again.

EDIT: Holy poop I log on and see this on the frontpage?! Thanks!

Edit: Awesome, my first award! Thanks for the high ratings everyone!

This is an animated version of the original webcomic, it's a tribute to the original author and to the band Mastodon who made the song. (Go buy their albums because they're awesome!)

The original webcomic was created by an anonymous author whom I'm not able to credit since there's no name written in the comic. I do not take credit for anything else than the animation. This flash is a hobby project made for fun, and I'm not making any profit whatsoever from it.

This project took a lot longer to finish than I expected, a lot of problems appeared when I worked on it. First of all the original voice actor didn't reply to my emails or send me his lines as I needed them, I had a lot to do in school, and the sound didn't sync properly when I exported what I had done so far. I gave up and forgot about the whole thing for a couple of months. However, I decided to take it like a man and finish the whole thing up. I got a new voice actor, Druoxtheshredder (He's awesome!), and I were able to fix the sync issues thanks to Knugen.

Well, I hope you enjoy it!

It really cracked me up. I didn't know the webcomic before I saw this but I've got to say, the idea is pretty genius and the animation really kept on par.

There's a lot to consider here. For starters it's almost entirely just an animated version of the webcomic. I wouldn't doubt you traced or copied graphics from the whale scenes.
It looks decent for what it is
The idea's seems more appealing for a webcomic.
It's not bad at all though.

Rooshich responds:

I can see why you think like you do, it's not original at all but it was never meant to be either. It's actually just something that was supposed to be a really fast fan project which I ended up working on more than I had originally intented to. A project which also achieved a lot more recognition than I expected.

However, I'll try to get better. I hope that if you get the chance to see them, you'll like my future projects better. :) (If I even make any)

Great, but,

the music kinda killed it. The voice acting was really good and the animation was great in terms of interpretation from the comic. But I just felt like the music ruined the moment that the comic creates. I know that the comic came after Mastodon made their song, but maybe because I read the comic first, it just didn't feel the same. I just imagine it different in my head, so oh well. Yet despite all that, I feel as if the music just doesn't fit in at all.
