4.14 / 5.00 17,182 ViewsBongo Boom Battlegrounds is a strategy game inspired by Patapon for the Sony PSP. Customise your army, choose a mission, then lead them into battle using a drum-based control scheme to give commands. Along the way you will encounter an 18 chapter storyline, a variety of enemy soldiers and several large bosses to defeat!
One of the reasons I created this was because it was really HARD looking for a Patapon-type game for the PC, so I made my own: the general style and control scheme may be borrowed from Patapon, but the story, artwork, and other game mechanics are entirely my own. I hope you will enjoy it, and have fun! Feedback is most welcome...
Instructions to play can be found in the game, everything is controlled by the arrow keys and spacebar.
Additional note: Thanks for all the comments, everyone! I hope you all had fun with the game. I've taken note of the more constructive suggestions and criticisms, and am currently working on the sequel... as for those who still feel it's too much of a patapon ripoff, then i sincerely apologize! it was never meant to be a 100% ripoff, i just really liked the idea of using drumbeats to control an army... so i made my own version of it. :)

I actually love the "drum concept." That's what makes the game so special. Without it, Bongo Boom Battlegrounds would be no different than some other flash games here on NG.
I'd change it slightly, though. At some point my fully trained and upgraded basic troops were as good (if not better) as the tier II/III advanced troops. You could make the game a little more difficult and the advanced troops a bit stronger or let us upgrade them at least once.
More things could be added, but that would make the game a bit too complex and probably hard to play. So, I'd rather see a sequel with minor changes, and maybe then the 3rd version with some complexity added.
Great game, by the way.

Horrible game...
I hated the "drum concept" of the game, would have been tons better if you had just dropped out the drum part and let us just play the game like a normal RTS/Strategy game...

Very Good
Finished in 37 days , 0 kills . Part 16 is very simple , kill monsters , get gems and upgrade troops , get the grim rider and the demon 2 full upgraded base soliders and the game is finished .

Very cool
The only thing I dislike is that you have to grind to get enough resources to make troops, and that you can't update 3rd tier troops.
For chapter 16, it's not that hard - 2 ballistas, 2 fully upgraded legionnares and whatever else you want fightning defensively (if you enter kill mode, break ita nd continue fighting defensively) did it easily for me
