Author Comments

FlxAdventure is a super-simple Adventure RPG coded with Flixel for the TIGSource Assemblee: Part 2 ( http://forums.tigsource.c om/index.php?topic=9600.0 )

A small town has suddenly been overrun with monsters! Fight your way through their ranks and delve deep into their lair to put a stop to their nefarious dealings.

Controls: Arrow Keys!

In combat:
Up = Normal Attack - Does normal Attack and Defense.
Left = Defensive Block - Does No Attack, but 2x Defense with small chance to heal 1 HP.
Right = Reckless Strike - 2x Attack but no Defense
Down = Attempt to Flee - No Attack and No Defense, but if it succeeds, you can escape the combat.

Hearts = +1 Max HP
Swords = +1 Strength
Shields = +1 Defense

Keys are dropped by enemies and unlock all the matching doors on that level.

Pick up apples and meat to heal, coins to spend at the shop (or to offer the Gods for Ressurection).
Collect gems to earn special magic armor.

Enjoy!

Bugzor!

I has a bug-ish. I don't really know how the editor works but:
In level 3, the water isn't solid, you can walk right through into nothingness.
Too easy, but nostalgic, music'd have been nice.

Good mechanics, except..

Pros:
1. Its flxl, that alone rocks
2. RPG, classic battle, and the usual monsters
3. Map layout was nice and even

Cons:
1. Two glitches I saw in the actual maps, on level three at the bottom where the lava starts, you can cross the water and go out into the grey void, and the other one was on level 4 the items spawned in walls and two brown doors apeared for no reason in the middle of room.
2.Shop keepers in the dungeons? I found it funny and also upseting to think that these shop owners had extra health, swords, and shields yet didn't try to stop the monsters. Next time, just make gold a score variable.
3. Speaking of gold, I had so much of it that in order to spend it all I would have to first purchase all items, then die fifty times about for each level. Tone down the gold drops, make the players have to chose between the sword, shield, or heart.
4. Lack of sound kind of upset me, made the game feel repetative.

Besides that this is a great game with a really great feel.

8 for effort

kidding, love this game, I do think it could use a magic spell or two, more upgrades, yes, harder bosses, like maybe you have to flee after a hit or two, or go heal up before trying to take em on again. more variety with random things and maybe a couple hidden rooms, I'm sure you've heard all this before, but I still play this again and again, just hope to see a sequel with hopefully a little improvement, but if not, I'd still be content or even a haunted game or elemental stuff dunno but don't stop, I'm lovin it

Make it harder.

The game is great, very simple system, lots of fun to play and a good length. However, by about the end of level 2 I was wading through pretty much everything without any difficulty. I dunno if it's just because I collected everything, but it shouldn't be that easy.

Really nice

It is good to pass the time, but There are some minor bugs, like the Stair only gond downstairs, wich everybody mentioned, and the death counter at the end did not work (it showed function() - something, and I died twice). The "bosses" were all pretty easy, too. Maybe a more improved battle system will make it possible to have more difficult battles without just raising the power of the enemies.
Anyway, it runs smoothly, the dungeons are all very well designed and the "simple" graphics are very beautiful.

I just didn't get what that red bar that filled up when you get crystals was meant for.
