This was a project I've been working on for about a year and a half. I'm happy to finally be able to share the final product. The goals of this work were to improve my ability to make backgrounds--because if you know me (or have seen any of my past works/excuses) --they aren't my strongest suit. :3
So what I tried to do was make a mellow episode of a series that mostly only had over-the-top action scenes. This would give me grounds to strengthen an ability to make something beautiful to look at, as well as fun to watch.
***To put the story simply: Ilu would love to be a conductor when she grows up. Likewise, her friends would love to be great artists, dancers, and even skilled musicians. But the daily mechanical grind of their lives don't really lead to any real chances to find that love they're searching for. By the end of the animation, neither Ilu nor any of her friends reach their goals--but based on Ilu's passion, they all get a bit closer somehow. And that was the kind of animation I wanted to make. ***

My Goodness
I love this. I liked the style you used, the mix of animation and pics. The story was great! It was awesome to watch all of their own stories unfold, and see the humor in each part. The music was really happy.. Overall, it was really awesome. :D

It's beautiful to watch
Even more than once, I don't get tired of watching this video. I love the additions of humour and how each person tries to attain their goal. Another thing I enjoyed was the incorporation of both photographs and drawn animation. This video will definitely stay as one of my favourite of my favourites :)

AWESOME, FEW QUESTIONS
I loved it! few questions though.
1. In Number 2 and Number 1 The Big Sister is fighthing, I wanna know about that
and What's her name, and why the big sister and the mom have those swords.
2. Is ilu going to be able to fight like that?
3. What's the name of the song?
4. Will their be a Fourth one?
5. Why can the big sister fight like that, and how?
Lastly. ^^ AWESOME VIDEO , Im intrested in the Sister though how she fights
and crud, Also what is the music for the 2nd one? THANKS!
1. Her name is Uli (same name as Ilu, just backwards). That was the title of the symbol I used when I first animated her in Don't Trip and that title changed to a name as I got to know the character better. :3 So the big sister (Uli) and the mother figure (Jacki) have those swords because they fight tRip pills (Jacki first, who's since been training Uli).
2. Ilu and her friends (and mostly everyone else) just live regular lives. Or that is to say that Uli and Jacki work hard to make sure everyone else can.
3. The Love I'm Searching For, by The Rentals (there are two different studio versions)
4. Um... Not too sure. I've worked on this series for so long I want to try something new that'll be a push my character design a bit (so all the characters won't look so similar) and new challenging scenes. I might retry doing the first couple of scenes from Don't Trip in the future just as a benchmark.
