HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING OF AUDIO SYNC? Like Nakisima said, you've got fantastic gameplay elements, ITS JUST LAGGY AND DAMNED HARD! This adds up to a game that's terrific in theory, but unplayable after a few minutes! Fix the audio and bring back difficulties!
Fear not - The audio sync issues are being dealt with in TREBL 3: Rhythm Arcade!
The new engine features a completely revamped synchronization system that is signficantly more accurate at both unusually high and unusually low framerates.
In my most recent builds, I've stress tested the game as low as 9FPS, and it still holds a clean and steady beat! Of course, the whole thing has been optimized for higher framerates on weaker computers, too, so I'm attacking this problem from both directions!
Difficulty is another issue I'm addressing in TREBL 3. I have resurrected the difficult settings from TREBL1, and players will now be able to choose between a 5-key "Casual Mode" or a 10-key "Hardcore Mode" for every song. Of course, some songs will be easier and some will be harder, but the goal now is to have a softer learning curve for new players, without sacrificing the intensity some of TREBL's more experienced players enjoy about the game's more difficult songs.
I couldn't find anything wrong with it, its more difficult and definitely preferable over guitar hero Brilliant job!
When I first started I didn't know how difficult it is and was completelty dumbfounded, Congrats xD. Setting aside lag and some odd music selections I think the game was great. I hope 3 has a lot less lag
Man, I would have sat playing for years without a break, but a combination of obscene difficulty at the later stages and lag was enough to put me off after a while. I have read your comments, really hope all problems solved in installment no.3. I'll look out for it intensely.
The timing on the screen seems a little off although the notes seem to actually go with the music fine. And the screen doesn't seem to go smoothly. So I look at the tutorial and I see it's letters. So I put my fingers on the letters ready to play and it's numbers. Then I decide to sign up and I put my fingers on the numbers ready to go and it's the letters. Annoying. I know it's probably because I signed up that it changed, and maybe a warning was there and I didn't notice it, but if there wasn't, next time some warning would be appreciated.

You are absolutely correct about the timing. Even though the keypress timing is accurate to the music, the visual timing on screen does, indeed, get laggy at lower framerates, and notes appear to be coming too slowly. Since this game is a bit of a resource hog, that happens pretty often.
You'll be happy to know that in TREBL 3, timing will be significantly more accurate at all framerates, and the application should also run significantly better across the board, due to some sexy new optimization techniques.
Your comments regarding the tutorial and number/key placement were very helpful. When the game was originally designed, numbers were the default option. When I changed this from numbers to letters, I forgot to change the tutorial (and then when you sign back up, it probably reverted back to numbers again, ugh!).
In TREBL 3, the first time you play a song, you will be shown a brief introduction window that will automatically detect the best graphics settings for your computer, and will allow you to set your keys. This will also support non-QWERTY keyboard users, who often had complaints about the options in TREBL 2.
