not as good as the original.

A poor copy of a great game. Let's see now what could improve. The computer is too slow. You could look at atari's version of the game.

*It has one button, which increases the speed of the ball for a short period of time.

*However the computer doesn't actually "follow" the ball in that version. It rather roughly calculates where it is gonna end up and head strait to the spot.

The original pong isn't that great as it doesn't have a computer AI so you may want to look into some remakes of the game for inspiration. Maybe you could make an improvement.

worse than many alternatives.

I really don't think Pong makes for a decent 1p game without some serious twists.

I mean, Breakout was made to serve that purpose and works well but there's a ton of other directions you could take it in. As is, it just seems uninspired with no ideas to call its own.

The collision detection seems broken too - when I first played, I hit the ball twice with my bat, lost both times, then thought that maybe that was the twist - that I had to realise to let it hit the wall. After losing a 3rd point, I again hit it with my bat and thereafter it worked as expected. In my 2nd game, the CPU lost a point when the ball was near the centre, as did I.

I liked the end animation though.

Too Easy

Nice, but the cpu is WAY too slow. It automatically scored 3 points against itself before I did anything because it was too slow to catch up to the ball. 4/5

Good

I love it. It's pong. I LOVE PONG. My problem with it is that you didn't try to add any content.
The game would be perfect if there was a classic mode, and a mode that you added to. A mode that's still pong but with more content that you made. Extra features, not just pong.

That's why I can't give it a higher grade. It's just pong, nothing more.
