This poem has gotten a lot of overwhelmingly positive and negative feedback since it was posted, 5 or 6 years ago. I wrote this in a difficult time, and lots of people have written me to say that it helped them cope just the same as it helped me.

Anyway, it's a little embarrassing to read it now, but I hope people are still enjoying it.

These are my thoughts, and are not meant to offend, if by some chance they do... I should mention that this is a poem, not a sermon. Yes, it is based on my beliefs, and if you did not want to find insight on Newgrounds, perhaps you should not have clicked on the link that read "Enlightenment"..

It's been several months since I've checked in with this submission, and I was a bit overwhelmed by all the positive response. Thanks to you all, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, though the poem itself is a bit convoluted in the first minute or so.

Music (c) Rob D "Clubbed to Death", Matrix soundtrack.

Absolutely amazing

Truely a standout, Its nice to see there are people out there who are not brainwashed, a wrench in the machine.

Is there a way I could download the poem and print it off?

...

And I thought I was alone. I've had thoughts much like these before, and I didn't know what to do with them. I felt cold and insecure, I didn't know what to do. I felt so devastated that, to my belief, I completely forgot about them as a psychological defense.

Only recently I saw that new movie, Avatar, and everything that pained me and tormented me came back in an instant. Seeing a life as it was meant to be lived, one without the meaningless distractions that we've plagued ourselves with, broke my lapse of ignorance.

Peoples like the Native Americans and African tribes had the right idea, living as a part of nature's eternal balance. Sadly, it appears that there is not a single place on Earth that can still support this lifestyle anymore. I can't think of any way to get anywhere near this ideal in the world of today.

My own idea of the purpose of life is to give back to our mother(Earth) somehow and pursue that elusive wisp of a state called happiness. So I ask anyone who is reading this to please provide any ideas you might have as to help solve my dilemma.

Greatness
