Hey everyone, here's a game for you. It's a moody little puzzle game about a hermit that expands on the mechanic seen in games like Cursor*10 and Chronotron.
Bonus points go to Luka Marcetic, who handled the art, and David Carney, who wrote the music.
Don't forget: If you mess up, push R to reset the level. P or Escape to pause-Volume controls are in pause menu.
That was an amazingly melancholy game...and at the ending, I couldn't help but feel even more amazed...this deserves 10/10...5/5...everything. I love it.
The puzzles were pretty clever, but what really grabbed me was how you told the story through the gameplay, using the elements of the puzzle platforming as metaphors for elements of the story. I thought this was handled very well.
Best Game of NG.
The ending was gut wrenching, a massive twang of pity and sadness rung from within my soul. The music went along beautifully with the game, it completed the atmosphere of loneliness. Originally, when I saw this game's icon, I expected an 8bit or similar game, but in truth, the artwork and style was simple, but like the music, went perfectly. the few characters, the background, it fit the game like a glove. I can't get my opinion on how GREAT this game is. The puzzles and the shadows, the short few levels with Kathryn, the gameplay worked perfectly, never frustrating or difficult. It just...worked. Me and the main character, the hermit, I feel similarity and empathy. This just shows how excellent a flash game can be if someone can feel that for a character in it. I wish I had another 3,200 characters of opinion and thoughts to add, but this game is simply and plainly brilliant and fun.
This game is one of the best on all of Newgrounds. The game is mentally challenging enough to create a sense of problem solving while being easy enough to progress with the plot really quickly. I loved it and one of the only items on Newgrounds that made me feel true emotion. I love the art games. They are all great but this one is particularly nice. The best way I can describe this game is tragically beautiful. I don't like judging art as its subjective and grading it out of 10 just standardizes compared to everything else thus in a way removing the artistic element so hell instead of going into an incoherent rant I'll just give this 10/10 because its marvelous!
i can finish it
its too emotional 11/10....
