Ever wonder what would happen if the worlds of Metal Gear and Super Mario crossed over? Well that's what you'll find out in Metal Gear Koopa Episode 1: Infiltration.

Mario finds himself forced into an anti-terrorist operation under the command of Colonel Toadsworth. He'll have to use all of his skills (Or pure dumb luck.) to rescue two high profile hostages and stop a nuclear launch from destroying the Mushroom Kingdom. What vile evil could be behind such an affront to a peaceful kingdom? Mario's own younger sibling; Luigi, and a group of specially trained mercenaries. Will Mario be able to successfully infiltrate the enemy stronghold undetected? Watch and find out!

(Notes: This is something that gets said a lot, but, this is my first time animating with Flash. While it may not excuse the animation quality, it does explain it. And future episodes will improve as I get better. Also, this -is- a sprite flash, so if you don't like sprite flashes, you need not waste your precious seconds watching this animation. If you're wondering, press "space" to advance dialogue and text screens. Thanks in advance for watching and I'm open to -constructive- criticism.)

It's good...

...but it's missing something. I don't mind the text, but the action is a little on the slow side. Some suggestions:

1) less pushing of space (though I appreciate not being rushed to read text, YMMV).
2) More action!
3) try to stick a boss in each episode.
4) bigger scene/screen please! I have poor vision and it hurts my eyes to watch this in 1152x864.

That's it. I have given more suggestions to others rated at a similar level. This is good, make moar!

1] I'm not sure what you mean by this, so you'll have to elaborate ^^;;
2] Trust me, future episodes will have plenty more action scenes.
3] The reason there isn't a boss battle in this one is because this first episode is meant to set the scene and introduce us to the world and do a little foreshadowing. From Ep 02 on there are going to be one or two major encounters per episode for a total of (Hopefully) 10 episodes telling the whole adapted story of MGS 1.
4] Yeah, I now realize that 450 x 300 is a little small and I think I'm going to increase it to the Flash default of 550 x 400 for the next episode, adding an extra 100 pixels each way. But for now, you can expand the movie with the little button in the title bar, next to the yellow "x" button.

Thank you for your comments/suggestions.

First Time???

This looked very good. For a minute I thought this was an actual SNES concept. Can't wait for more in the series. Keep up the good work.

It's the truth, this is really the first time I've animated with Flash. I've worked with sprites for years, however, I had a weekly webcomic at one point.

Thanks for the comment!

Looks like it came out great!

Like the title says: Looks like this first month or two has paid off Shae. This may be your first ever flash but I still think it's a great start! I'm gonna start telling my friends about the series. I'm greatly looking forward to future episodes!

Month and a half's worth of animation production time. Would have been a little less had I not wound up in the hospital for a few days. ^^;; Now that I've gotten my hands dirty in Flash, future production should get a little smoother, especially as I improve/learn. Thanks for your comments and all your help during the betas ;)

Well done!

This is suprisingly faithful to MGS and the added style of Mario and all the humor thrown in has made this a very unique and fun thing to watch. I really hope you continue making these as I'd like to see the rest, or at least highlights of MGS in this form. The sprite work and animation was smooth and the music and sound effects went perfectly. Keep up the great work! :D

Well thank you for your input :)

I really did try to stay as true as possible to both universes, if I went too far one way or the other it wouldn't have worked out as well. It's all about balance. And don't worry, after a good amount of feedback comes in I'll start production on future episodes.
