Yo. I've not submitted anything for a while, so here you go something from uni. I made this for fun after getting the idea the other morning while in the shower. That day I printed n cut out my stencil, the next day I painted & animated it - on my shower wall.

The idea is basically how the image of Che Guevara is eradicating, its just an image nowadays - iconic nonetheless - but iconic of what? Ignorant rebellion? Most people (like myself) need to scratch beneath the surface to see what's there.

I guess you'd class this as stop motion animation?

Music recorded by me and my friend this morning, a few sounds used from the free sound project (thanks to Sikoses & Corsica_S)

It's a shame to say it - because youtube is slowly devolving, being taken over by adverts and such, but you can see a higher quality version on Youtube- http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=IqJU2zQPX1Y

sweet man

i like the effect, i was beginning to wonder how you did it but the paint must have been relatively wet the whole time to be able to do that?

it's funny you did this since an english woman named Trisha Ziff just came to our school to show her film, Chevolution.

good painting though, must have been a shame to erase your Che portrait haha

Mogly responds:

Ah cheers mate. Nah it wasn't wet, I used water colours for the hat (which originally sounded ideal) and acrylic for the red. At first I was thinking the acrylic wouldnt work, but eventually it turned out best, as all I had to do was switch the shower on and it loosened it up, scratch a bit off with my fingers, then add a little more paint and make it run in the wet.

It was a shame to take it off, one of my room mates came in half way through and was wondering why I had a ugly-melted Che Guevara on my shower wall haha! It took a lot of scrubbing to get it clean, but had room inspections a few days later so had to get it off.

Banksy

Reminds me of a Banksy I saw in Bristol. He did a stencil on how che is such a watered down figure now, you should look him up if you haven't yet.

Mogly responds:

Ah yeah ta for the response. I have Banksy's book with that in, and am beginning to wonder if maybe that inspired this..
