Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Tunnel Syndrome is a fun, simple game where you control your ship through a mind bending tunnel at blazing fast speeds. Travel as far as you can without hitting the edges, be careful your ship can only sustain so much damage!

Enjoy Newgrounds :)

the game itself (sorry!) was kinda mediocre, at 1 point, even impossible, but the music and all made me think of gradius III...i LOVE that game, its gonna get a 3

Nice retro-avoider. Power ups woulda been kool

This kind of game reminds me of when I was young, and cracking open a game-design book for the Commodore 64. I mean that as a good thing, a bit of a nostalgic romp.

But just think of the possibilities or where to take it further. Different patterns, pre-designed maze parts, varying speeds and designs. Imagine what mouse support would allow, including the ability to make it even harder, and not sacrifice control.

I would also recommend a little intro, or something to prepare the player for what the controls are, as well. Getting thrown head-first into the game caught me off gaurd at first, but thankfully it's the kind of game that you instantly "get".

This game is extremely simple, but is at the same time fairly addicting.

You might want to attempt to fix the glitch in the beginning which allows you to get outside of the course. Also, while in the track, if i move the ship to the bottom of the screen, it makes the game much easier than if the ship was at the top of the screen. This makes for several different difficulty levels. I do not know if that was your intention.

Other than that, this is a very easy to play, but fun game.

I enjoy these kinds of games; they provide a slight challenge for me, which is more than i can say for other games.

One problem, though: If you hold down and left at the beginning, you can get out if the course and continue on until...well, I don't know what's at the end, or if there even is one. Second problem I found while writing this: score only goes up to 10 million or so, then the units shift to the right one, making the 1 units disappear, meaning thatwhen the score hits 10,000,000, the game will read it as 1,000,000, but the last unit is still there, just not visible. But this is only a problem if you go outside the course.

Inside the course, i managed to get 2.3m. Outside the course, I am currently passing 30m =)
