Shattered Heaven Act 3

Part 2

If you're going to critique me, that's great. I always welcome good advice, anything that will help me grow and get better. If you're just going to bash me, "this sucked" "you're horrible" etc, don't waste my time, or yours. Those comments will be taken with a grain of salt, or none at all.

"Fading Light"

Things are intensifying as the conflict is getting hotter. Demetrius Libertas, an ex representative for the EAP has shown his face once again. His intentions are unknown at the moment. Battles are still waging amongst the various Angel training facilities but all eyes are on New York as Adam Novus tries to fend off the mysterious frames that have advanced.

"Make More!"

date: November 12, 2009

I hope you make another Mecha animation, only instead of Gundams, maybe you could based it on Armored Core. And in terms of criticism, you should improve the graphics and design.

November 12, 2009

Author's Response:

Well, for one it's not based on Gundams it's a series so there's going to be more. It's an animated series based off my novels. The designs were based off AC and Gundam as that's what helped me get better at drawing mecha.

Few things, the orbital weapons are actually called orbits which I was influenced from AC 2 and AC 2 AA. Ironically when I started watching Gundam they had funnels and such, so from there people would always assume I took the idea from Gundam when I didn't. I already have newer designs for each mech in the series but decided to stick with the gundam influenced ones while I'm working on getting a literary agent and the novels out there to be published.

Either way I'm fine with people constantly bringing up Gundam in a review. It's like everyone trying to do an action anime with fighting, people constantly bring up DBZ.

Though I do want to point out that this series did not start off in anime form, and the novels are much much better.

In regards to improving the graphics and design, well, I'm always improving from scene to scene as I keep getting more comfortable with Flash.

Still my art, line art and colored stuff is naturally 100x more detailed and refined than the animation. Since I do this for fun, I'm merely focusing on trying to show the story and entertain. If people are entertained than I'm happy. I don't care if my animation or art style isn't the best. All I ask is that people watch the full series or realize that these are broken up into scenes from a complete 20 minute episode.

Thanks for the review.

this is just so amazing. story telling wise and timing, this is top notch. and seriously you got balls for doing a mech anime in flash. so much work was put in and i can tell. seriously great job. i wish i would of seen this when this was first submitted. i love the political undertone. plus the story just has layers. yes. this deserves a way higher score

Author's Response:

Thanks man, I appreciate the positive words, it means a lot. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass but I love it. Constantly improving, it's a lot of fun. This series is something close to me, started and still is a novel series of my own and spanned out into a comic and now this. The novels in my opinion are still the best because it was/is so easy to write it and describe everything as opposed to the animation and visual aspect. But yeah, haha.

Anyway, a score is a score, I just enjoy doing it. Some people enjoy it, some don't. Honestly, if one person enjoys it then that makes my day.

Great animation and storyline. I loved how diverse it was and the voices are great. Sometimes the music is louder than the voices but that's not much of an issue I guess.

Author's Response:

Thank you ^^. I appreciate the kind words. Yeah, I'm fixing the audio balance. I probably should have held off a day, but I was kinda anxious to get this scene out since there's still 4 more scenes of this episode to do..>_>.

"hahahaha oh man"

date: October 19, 2009

take more time in writing, the characters shouldn't vocalize everything they're thinking or explain whats going on. if they have to do that then theres something wrong with the story. the animation was alright though

October 19, 2009

Author's Response:

Actually a lot of that wasn't in the script, it was just added when some people weren't sure what was going on, it's more a way to cover up the lack of skill in animating, especially when I animated things a bit too fast or unclear.

I'm a better writer than an animator and I'm used to writing in novel format where the descriptions and such show the scene. I definitely have a way to go in animating where I will be able to feel more confident in visually explaining things. Til then, oh well.

"Great!"

date: October 19, 2009

I haven't watched the previous episodes, but I can tell you have a really interesting story going on here. The animation is impressive. But, one thing that bugged me a tad was the music - speech balance. Many times the speech was overly quiet, or music overly loud. Just spend a little time tweaking that balance throughout the flash. =) Just something to consider in the future. Great job!

October 19, 2009

Author's Response:

Thanks, I appreciate it. My animation is constantly improving, and this is the current example of my animating, it;s definitely the best of what I've done so far.

The speech will be corrected tonight. Honestly, I was getting too frustrated with the computer issues I had....haha. Oh well.
