"Lol. Not bad."

date: November 1, 2009

Could use more work in terms of animation, graphics and audio but its a great idea.

The annoying whining and repetitve meowing of the cat weren't particularly good and set a bad impression.

Animation is skippish and not smooth at all while graphics definetely need a lot more work. A background could also help your cause here, And more colours always help.

Overall, its a good plot but its not well portrayed. it definetely needs more work.

"Could use some serious work"

I think that there's a decent enough plot for this that you can certainly keep working at the art work, in order to make the piece look better.

I'd say that you need to zoom in more, giving more control of the cursor and when you zoom out, the image looks better finished.

What I disliked about the image quality was the "spray paint" effect of parts - this may be down the the video program that you've been using. Taking steps like getting the 30 day trial of Flash would certainly help matters here.

"For Paint, it's extremely impressive..."

date: October 30, 2009

...but as a movie itself, it needs a bit more work. It's a nice short, but quality really put the movie down and if you just learn how to use flash (and obviously get flash...), movies like this will be child's play. Still, by using Paint, you achieved what can be called an 'animation', and I give high respect to anyone who can do that :).

Graphics and animation were the worst parts of the movie, and it's what put down your score the most. Graphics were rough, and the animation was quite skippy, but still, really impressive remembering that you used Paint. What could be improved over here is fixing the uneven or careless drawings in some parts, for example the window's lines not being too long and the drawer knobs' circles all being relatively the same size (you can use the selection tool on paint to copy and paste a circle on each drawer). Overall, graphics and animation could've been done better if you used Flash, but they were among the best I've seen for Paint.

The concept wasn't that unoriginal, but as Haggard said, it was executed quite well. What could add to the humour a little more is doing sound effects of loads of shouting as the cat is being smashed into walls and stuff in the background before the movie ends, and then a small child asks "Mum, what's that dirty rag covered in red goo doing on the floor?" and she answers, "It's the cat, darling.", or instead of that, you could do that the person who grabs the cat at the end says to it "Well, it's off to the blender with you" :P.

I agree with Kirbyfemur, the audio was harsh at times, namely the cat meowing, but still synced well with the animation, and the sound effects in general weren't bad. Songs in the background were perfect, and fit with the movie flawlessly. Transition from one song to another wasn't too smooth, so you should try and work on that.

You're a pro with Paint, that's for sure, and the audio and concept were performed quite well, but the bad quality and skippy animation are the culprits of your current 2.34 score. Not that it's really your fault, but by using Flash you'd have a much better grasp on the graphics and animation. Not a bad job overall.

"Not to bad"

date: October 29, 2009

It's a bit stuttery, and the sound are harsh at times.

But overall, it is a great start. You've at least got the starting point of actual motion, rather than just having text over the persons head, and having the "animation" just be a bunch of extended frames and jittery transitions.

Keep working on it, you'll get there eventually. Would love so see your work evolve as time goes by. =3

"That's an evil cat for sure"

date: October 26, 2009

Wow, this cat looks really evil, like a reincarnation of the devil itself.

Too bad the flash doesn't have a preloader, the movie kept stopping because it hadn't fully loaded. You may want to check out the flash tutorials on Newgrounds, they can teach you nearly everything you need to know: How to work in flash, how to create simple scenes and also how to add a preloader.

The drawings look decent, but I think you suffered a loss in quality when you converted this from paint to flash. Sometimes the pictures look very "unclean", which most of the time shows that there was a hughe quality loss.

The story is decent as well. It may not be too original, but at least it was quite well executed. Also, the added sound effects where pretty good and where synched pretty well with the movie.
