You, a little girl, end up in a creepy cellar after being promised free "icecrem".
Escape from the house without being caught by the insane cook!

This game was the result of an assignment for a level design class 2 years ago.
The focus of this project was basically level design and creating a cool puzzle chain.
It was made in a couple of weeks by a team of 5 students:
Peter Groeneweg - design / coder
Dennis Haak - design / animation
Martijn Kors - design / animation
Brian van Bruggen - design
David Kamerman - design / art

We had some more rooms planned for the upper floor, but we kinda ran out of time since we had other projects running parallel to this one :D It's still pretty much a finished game though.

Sorry for the crappy preloader, it's 5MB, so it might take a while to load.

this game legitimately made me depressed for a whole day. and depression and/or sadness is a VERY rare emotion for a game to bring out of me. very interesting game, great job, sir.

=====Reaction=====
> After I've heard your group's game was mentioned in the <em>"Top 80 Scary Horror Games"<em> I can't help but to play it, since it is the only flash indi game that was included..
> Actually I played the game, after a few weeks I've heard it. It keeps bugging me about this game for literally 2 weeks already. So I happen to play it.
---Experience---
> As I play the game, I was quite scared of what will happen to the girl if I were to be caught. Luckily I survived, and I finally made it.
> The whole creepy Free Ice Cream thing was great! This can really a great scary game one day, if you happen to continue this. The music going back and fort, while hearing that creepy tune in the loop.. Made me get the feeling of an insanity part, especially when the guy is trying to butcher those poor kids.
=====Comments=====
> The background of the theme of the game, the music, and the characters were perfect! Giving it a great edge to control the emotions of the people who are playing this game. Even I was affected by this, a bit crept out.
=====Suggestions=====
> Considering myself as a 1996 kid gamer (including previous years), I say.. This is one of the most small game yet a memorable game indeed. Made me remember...
- "Glasgow Ice Cream Wars" in Scotland (1980)
- "Murder of Rosie Palmer" (1994) were a little girl named Rosie Palmer was raped and murdered...
> This can really be a great independent game, if your going to continue doing this. It's quite in fact great! Well.. Despite it's graphics, short story and gameplay.. This game is actually very interesting! Made me want to have at least a good sequel of this.
> A tip of advice, if you were to create a sequel of this. I suggest make an alternate endings. Like the game "Stanley Parable" became popular due to the fact it contains a lot of Easter eggs and alternate endings.
=====Questions=====
---[MAIN CHARACTER]---
> Anyway.. I can't help myself but to question myself again and again... Who's the black haired girl, wearing a red sweater like? A lot of people are questioning about her identity, including I.. I'm hoping you could answer this, as I'm a bit amazed of your group's project game.
> The only thing I could guess is.. This is somehow related or inspired from the "Murder of Rosie Palmer" that has almost the same case. Although this game has 2 girls.
------
> Yet the ending wasn't that polished, but we get the idea of what will happen though. And I understand why that happen, since this is in fact only an assignment that was given. Yet for an assignment. This is great!

Peace dude ^_^v I'm lucky to have played "Free Ice Cream" You really made my day :)
