This is my first flash game!
I followed a tutorial, but ended up remaking the finished product so that more than half of the original code was replaced! So you can't say I made it all on my own, but mostly. Kinda like I used a template.

Instructions:
Bounce around the stage and collect as many coins as you can while avoiding the black rotating thingy of doom. If you touch it you will lose all your points.
The Right and Left keys controls your movement.
When you collect a coin it will respawn in a random location and will sometimes (rarely) be unable to reach. Press SPACE if that happens and it will warp to a random location.
Also note that nothing happens if the line just barely touches you, it has to hit your center.

Nice idea

But since you didn't think of it yourself I can hardly give you points for that.
It's a nice thing though, a ton better than most of the other new things I see on here. It's a good start for you, now try and expand it, make it a bit more playable and put some variation into it. Or just start a new project altogether.

Oh people, YOu can give your reviews scores BETWEEN 0 and 10. It doesn't have to be one of those two numbers. This doesn't deserve a 10, but more than 0 for sure!

LimeLemon responds:

Some of the code is not my own, but the idea is mine.
In the original game you controlled a flying ball, so you also used the up and down keys to control vertical speed. My ball can only go left and right, and is bouncy. And there was no speed limit. You also died when you tuched the walls instead of bounce. But the game didn't restart, you got -2 points or something and was warped to the upper left corner (start position). The same thing with the rotating line. So if the rotating line was in the upper left corner when you died you lost a ton of points. I made it so if you tuch the line you lose all your points because, it may sound silly but, I couldn't figure out how to restart the game. But the coin remained the same, except that it's easier to catch because I increased the hitbox. The rotating line also adjusted it's speed to the amount of points you had. Mine is fixed, and synced with the ball's max/min yspeed (though it's a tiny bit off, so if you play the game for ten minutes it may get harder as you will get closer to the line on the up-bounce).
But the main difference is that I reprogrammed the ball to bounce instead of fly. Gives you a completely different experience, so I dare to say that the idea is my own. I only used the original game as template and inspiration.

Actually

that's a pretty nice idea! and great for a first submission, keep working on it and maybe add some more stuff to it, like sounds and all that. also i think you converted the ball to a button rather than a movie clip :P
doesnt matter though i think, for what it is for at least it works

great job ;D
