A few comments/suggestions.
1. Your hit detection is off things kill you before you even touch them.
2. The character needs to be a little bit more agile, be able to jump a little higher or farther or both.
3. The controls seem stiff, this goes along with agility a bit. You should work on that.
4. The world should always start in the same state, the way you have it set up if you die you can find yourself dying immediately again because the turtle has moved to your possition. So either always start with things in the same place, or conversly provide a few seconds of immunity. Or best idea yet, how about just starting the person off in a safe place?
Not going to really comment on the graphics or sound, the gameplay itself was a bit too bad for me to give an objective opinion on those. Try reworking the controls/player movement and resubmit.
