I agree.

You should get no less then half of what the store is selling it for. And if the game hasn't even been opened but for some reason you're trading it in instead of returning it, then they should treat it as new, not used.

well really...

take it from a person who actually works at gamestop:

why don't you take advantage of the sales?
we charge so little because WE have to make a profit. or the company goes under.
and besides, I just work here, I don't make the prices.
Gamestop is the world's largest video game retail store. how else are we getting money? 80% of the money from the games that you buy go back to the companies. gamestop only recieves 20% if any.

True

I went to Gamestop to turn in an N64 game. You know what they offered me? A nickle. Yeah, the effort put in is worth a nickle.

That's why I don't trade in games at stores.

A few years ago I went to trade in some old Playstaion game, and they offered me 10-20 bucks. But when I put it online I got like $100 or so. THE STORES ARE SCAMING YOU PEOPLE! SELL YOUR STUFF ONLINE, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT SAP WILL PAY YOU A HUGE LOAD OF MONEY FOR IT!
