After 3 long years of sleepless nights and near fatal set backs, Exmortis 3 has finally been released. I have put my heart and my soul in to this creation, so I hope more than anything that you enjoy this tale of revenge and salvation.

Over to you now, my friends...

Conclusion

First of all, I have absolutely nothing against having to pay for this game and I completely respect your decision.

I bought Exmortis III as soon as it came out, hurried home from work and started playing it immediately. After having completed it, I'm saddened to tell you that I was very let down by the entire game. It's is a fine piece of work, don't get me wrong, but it has almost nothing to do with the horror games we played and loved, Exmorits 1 & 2. I was expecting to walk through creepy dark corridors, being paranoid and afraid of something jumping out of me, but what I got was more of a Fallout like game, way too "big" and "epic".

The amazing thing about the older games was that you created something so thrilling and suspenseful, scarier than most console and PC games around, from something as "simple" as flash. You set out to make a game that would scare people and succeeded. In this one you tried to make something EPIC and CINEMATIC, which unfortunately in most aspects, does not work.

The game didn't have the same charm as the older games or even "Goliath The Soothsayer". Too many "checkpoints" and "achivements". I miss the simplicity, the cropped images, the blood trails, the enemies, and most of all the extremely scary and creepy ambience. The things that made the games so, SO much better than anything else on this site.

Still, I do not regret buying this game, it was fun and exciting, but not an Exmortis game. You are still my favourite flash author and a great inspiration to thousands of amateur flash developers.

Good, but still...

I love this series, but there is no way I would pay for the game.

I'm a big fan of the Exmortis series and was looking forward to playing the third but when I saw the only way to play it was if I bought it I felt a little upset. I'm one of those people who think you shouldn't have to pay for a flash game and I won't be paying for one any time soon. Sorry for the bad review just try making it FREE to play. Overall though I think it would be a great game.

Ahh...

I gotta say Ben, I've already bought and beaten the full version. I was one of the people on your blog last night, pouncing the second it was released. However, I have to dock you points for not making a "full" version for the internet, even if only to put on Newgrounds. This website has made your first two games more popular and well known then any other one they've been posted on, yet you give them what isn't even half of the full game. It's disappointing and shameful that someone who has such an amazing gift for flash, would sell out to a company. I understand they've backed you in the production of E3, but there's always sponsors. Selling out, and pissing off your fan base...not the best move you've ever made man...

Not as good as 1 or two

The controls and the gameplay were great. Plus the alternate endings were cool too but what really threw me for a loop was when you beat valdew that ending. What is this Lion king? Normally something like this would get a higher score but Ben, you've created a cult classic here. I feel..... wanting more? ...... I dunno for such a build up that ending kinda left me unfullfilled.
